Chilly DevLogs from Alaska! #96 GAME MECHANICS: All About Gold

Hello again, explorers!

Gold is the reason you’re here.
The dream. The goal. The thing that keeps you digging deeper into the cold Alaskan ground.

Today, we’re taking a closer look at how gold actually works in the game - from raw finds to cold, hard cash.



Gold conquers all! Not all gold is equal - as you explore and mine, you’ll come across different types of gold:

• Gold Dust - small, fine particles.
• Gold Flakes - more noticeable and valuable.
• Gold Nuggets - the real prize. Rare and worth a lot.

Each type has its own value - and finding better forms of gold is always a satisfying moment!





Not all that shines is gold ;) Raw gold isn’t always ready to sell.

To get the most out of it, you’ll need to clean and smelt what you find. This process allows you to refine your resources and increase their value.



You will need some resources to start some processes: buy mercury in local shop and don't forget to collect enought sticks to ligten up a fire! And also you will need... to wait while machinery is doing the hard work! Don't worry just go to sleep (in-game of course) and a time will skip just enought hours!





Not gold, but the spirit makes the man! All of this happens in the Engineer’s Workshop.

You’ll find the engineer hanging out in town - feel free to walk up and say hello! He’s the one who helps turn your rough materials into something much more valuable.





Gold rules the world. So turn gold into dollars $$$!

Once your gold is processed, it’s time to make profit.

Head over to the bank, where the banker will exchange your gold for dollars. Simple as that - no questions asked.

The better the quality of your gold, the more you’ll earn. So it pays off to process it properly before selling.





In the next DevLog, we’ll move on to crafting and tools - showing you how to create, upgrade, and optimize your equipment for even better efficiency in Alaska.
