We’re back with another behind-the-scenes look at the world of Alaska Gold Fever. In this devlog, we’re diving into a few mysterious elements you may have already encountered in our playable demo. And we are teasing what’s to come.


Curses are not real... right?
This artifact is tied to one of the central narrative arcs involving the Inuit communities that inhabit the region. The totem is a quest item, crucial for progressing a specific storyline that explores folklore, forgotten pacts, and spiritual unrest.



Just holding it in inventory it grants the player a powerful buff but... Those who hold the totem may begin to notice strange anomalies. Are you sure you don't wanna return it to rightful owners as fast as you can?



Some eagle-eyed players have already found the necklace with an old photograph in our demo - we quietly placed it as an easter egg. What you may not realize yet is that this necklace holds significant narrative weight in the full game!


We’re excited to expand this thread in the next chapter of development. If you’ve found the necklace already… you’re ahead of the game ;)





Some of you discovered a small set of stacked stones near the river, strangely reminiscent of something...

If you thought of Lucky Luke, you’re absolutely right ! It’s our subtle homage to the old Western spirit !
They have no purpose for now... but what you think about adding one? An obtainable item that boosts your gold discovery rate by 0.0001 % ? ;)

First of all: thank you for playing our Alaska Gold Fever demo!

in this week’s devlog, we're diving deep into the dangerous world of bandits in Gold Fever - their camps, their shady operations, and how our AI improvements make them more cunning than ever.


In Alaska you may stumble across Bandit Camps - lawless hubs hidden in the woods and mountains.
These aren’t just combat zones; they’re potential trading posts... if you know how to talk to the right outlaw.

Bandits run their own illegal mining operations, extracting gold from their private claims. They’re not fond of outsiders, but if you survive long enough to negotiate, you might be able to negotiate stuff or buy rare stolen items.



Bandits are not your average NPCs. Their AI behavior has been upgraded, and here's what to expect:

-They patrol actively through the forest, moving in unpredictable patterns.

-They chase players who enter their territory — no mercy.

-they dodge bullets, taking cover or trying to flank you if they get pinned down.

-if cornered, you can beat them in melee, but it won’t be easy — they fight back.



And one interesting thing you must know: we based bandits AI behavior on the prison guards from our other title :D

We’ve just released a hotfix for the Alaska Gold Fever demo based on your feedback and internal testing.
Thanks to everyone who played and reported issues!
Here’s what we’ve addressed:

• Fixed crosshair issues when aiming with weapons
  
  
• Resolved a bug where players could fall through the map.
  
  
• Fixed players getting stuck in rocks.
  
  
• Corrected disappearing and duplicating objects.
  
  
• Soft-blocker in mission #1 has been resolved - players who went off-path should now be able to progress.
  
  
• Improved the initial conversation with Fred NPC character to make it more intuitive.
  
  
• Deers should no longer get stuck and have better AI.
  
  
• Disabled bucket overloading

We're also continuing to work on performance optimization to ensure a smoother experience for everyone.

In Alaska Gold Fever demo, you step into the boots of a fortune seeker during the legendary gold rush of 1896. The cold, unforgiving wilderness of Alaska is both your greatest challenge and opportunity.

In the demo, you’ll:
