Welcome to thirty DevLog for Alaska Gold Fever!

Hello travelers!

Wow a 30 devlogs !!!!
I hope you like these :D
If you got more questions about game feel free to ask me on our Discord server (links below at the end of devlog)

In today's devlog we will talk about a new town's inhabitant and some story about him !

Meet a Ronald Ferret!

In the world of Alaska Gold Fever, there's one character who's always up to no good: Ronald Ferret. With his trademark red hair and a reputation for being a lousy man, he's the kind of guy you wouldn't want to trust with your gold.

Ronald grew up in a small village on the outskirts of the game world, where he quickly gained a reputation for causing trouble. Whether he was stealing candy from babies or tripping up his classmates on the playground, Ronald was always up to something.

But when he heard about the gold rush in Alaska, Ronald knew he had to get in on the action. With dreams of striking it rich, he packed up his bags and set off for the great unknown.

Unfortunately, things didn't go quite as planned for Ronald. Despite his best efforts, he just couldn't seem to find any gold. He spent hours panning in freezing cold rivers, digging in dangerous mines, and even trying his luck with some shady voodoo stuff, but nothing seemed to work.

But Ronald refused to give up. He knew that there had to be gold out there somewhere, and he was determined to find it. So he kept digging, kept panning, and kept searching for that elusive nugget.
(a real GOLD FEVER, eh?)

Work hard and live your life to the fullest!

And finally, after months of hard work, Ronald struck gold. He found a massive vein of the precious metal, enough to make him a fortune ten times over.

But as luck would have it, Ronald's luck didn't last for long. Just as he was celebrating his newfound riches, a group of bandits swooped in and stole all of his gold. With nothing left to show for his efforts, Ronald was forced to return home, empty-handed once again.

Always be yourself!

But despite his misfortune, Ronald never lost his sense of humor. He continued to cause trouble and play pranks on his friends and enemies alike, always with a mischievous grin on his face.

So if you ever come across Ronald Ferret in Alaska Gold Fever, be sure to keep an eye on your gold. You never know what kind of tricks he might have up his sleeve!

Charming guy, is he?

Bonus stuff !

Here you can see a new rendered building. What role will it have????
Who knows! But prepare a logo for it in advance ;)

Welcome to twenty-ninth DevLog for Alaska Gold Fever!

Hello travelers!

In today's devlog we will talk about a new town's inhabitant and how he was made!

Non-player-characters... but with CHARACTER

In our game, Alaska Gold Fever, we wanted to create a realistic and immersive experience of living in a gold rush town in Alaska during the late 19th century. One way we are doing this is by populating the town with NPCs that players can interact with.

In this devlog, we will focus on the creation of one such NPC, a town inhabitant character.
He doesn't have a name !! (yet)

We started by thinking about what kinds of people would live in a gold rush town in Alaska. We wanted the NPCs to be diverse and representative of the time period. After some research, we decided on creating a town inhabitant character who is this middle-aged man.

Once we had a concept for the NPC, we began designing him.
We started by creating a list of characteristics that would make him unique like a cap, a moustache, a pouch (with gold in it???!).

Details! Making a leather pouch !

Such details can make a diffrent! Always try to make a NPC who have something unique.
You can see here a details about amking a leather pouch!
Is he using it for carrying gold around? Or just some random seeds from the forest?
Or is it just empty ? ;(

In making a character you have to think about some things that will behave accordingly like in the real world.
You know, like hair, long coats etc.
It's important! If not characters will be very stiff, especially if they gonna move.

Fun with the face

You can use a basic head shape with some wrinkles already built-in in Bledner but the fun is to make it own and unique ;)

There is a lot of filters and complicated stuff!

Ever wanted to try 3D-modeling?
It's hard but really rewarding!
I hope these devlogs made you interested in it :D
So go ahead and give it a try. It might just be the most fun you'll have all day!

ARE YOU GONNA WISHLIST ALASKA GOLD FEVER?

;)

Welcome to twenty-eight DevLog for Alaska Gold Fever!

Hello travelers!

In today's devlog we will talk about guns and their role in our game!

"God created man but Samuel Colt made them equal"

This poverb... Pretty self-explanatory, right? ;)

These powerful items will be crucial to surviving the harsh wilderness and defending oneself against dangerous predators and rival prospectors!

Revolver weapons will be a staple for players who prefer close-range combat. These weapons will offer high damage and quick firing rates, making them ideal for taking out enemies at close range.

We are thinking to give players access to a variety of revolvers, each with its own unique stats and attributes but for now we got only one model available.
Ultimately its not a shooter game ;)
Speaking of - revolvers are small and easy to use so a lot of NPCs will carry them!
So don't think of robbing everyone in your sight ;)

I'm really digging this "fake diagram". Looks really realistic. Also... well it's not that "fake"! It's actually showing some details on this 3D model :D

"Always have an loaded rifle but also always have hope never to have occasion to use it"

Quite a quote... i think one of the USA president said this.

For players who prefer to keep their distance, rifle weapons will be the perfect choice. (and also a bow!)
These weapons will offer excellent accuracy and range, allowing players to take out enemies from a safe distance.
Players will have access to a variety of rifles as well, each with its own unique stats and attributes. Some rifles will offer greater damage output, while others will be more accurate or have longer range.

Maintenance!
Remember this mini-game from PRISON SIMULATOR? ;)
Maybe it will make a come back ;)
Of course, obtaining these weapons will not be easy (except a revolver maybe).
Players will need to scavenge for resources, trade with other prospectors or traders, and complete challenging quests in order to obtain best weapons!

Welcome to twenty-seventh DevLog for Alaska Gold Fever!

Hello travelers!

Welcome to the Alaska Gold Fever game development log!
Today, we'll be discussing one of the most unique character you can meet in the game, a Native American character named Adriel!

This devlog is kind of special. I want test some things:
This devlog will be shorter and focusing on one topic at the time.
Tell me in comments if it is a good idea :D

"Hello traveler"

Adriel is a member of the special tribe, which has lived in the southeastern region of Alaska for thousands of years. As a Native American character, Adriel brings a rich cultural perspective to the game, and his interactions with the player can offer a deeper understanding of the history and traditions of the indigenous people of Alaska.

Adriel's story begins when the player meets him in a remote village in wilds.
He is initially wary of the player, as his people have been displaced by the influx of gold miners in the area. However, as the player helps Adriel with various tasks around the village, he begins to trust and respect them.

Through conversations, the player can learn about the Native American culture, including their traditions, beliefs, and way of life. Adriel can also offer valuable advice on surviving in the wilderness, as well as tips for navigating the treacherous Alaskan terrain.

In terms of character design, Adriel is inspired by the traditional clothing and jewelry of the Native American people. His clothing is adorned with intricate beadwork, and he wears a distinctive hat.
He also carries a bow and arrows, which he uses to hunt for food in the wilderness (not included on the pic :D ).

As i said earlier:
Feedback much appreciated! How do you like this short-but-information-and-details-packed-devlog ??

Chilly DevLogs from Alaska ! #26

Welcome to twentieth-six DevLog for Alaska Gold Fever!

Hello travelers!

Welcome to Alaska!
In this episode:
- specification of some special weapon
- new character! Elizabeth!
- using dynamite in mines!
Harp00000n rifle details!

The Harpoon rifle, also known as the Winchester Model 1895, was a popular choice among miners due to its reliability and accuracy. It was a lever-action rifle chambered in powerful cartridges like the .30-06 Springfield, which could easily take down large game like grizzly bears.

- is it true? Partially - yes! But partially - no... gonna change some things for a videogame purposes :D
Look at all the details! It looks like straight from a 1896 shopping album !
New char!

Meet Elizabeth - a tough and resourceful woman. Elizabeth is a skilled hunter and marksman, and she uses her wits and physical prowess to survive in the harsh wilderness.
Combine her with a Harpoon rifle from previous section and Elizabeth could take down both animals and potential threats from other prospectors who might try to steal her claim or harm her in some way!

"Here, hold this."

Dynamite was another tool that miners used to extract gold from the earth.
By placing sticks of dynamite in the walls of a mine and then detonating them, miners could blast away large sections of rock and uncover veins of gold that might have been too deep to reach otherwise.
However, dynamite was dangerous to handle and required a steady hand and nerves of steel.

In our game you can also use it to quickly destroy some portions of rocks. But it will also destroy gold chunks... also dynamite is quite expensive. So use it wisely!

"Using dynamite in mines was not without risks. Accidents could and did happen, and miners who mishandled explosives could end up seriously injured or killed. However, the potential rewards of using dynamite were too great for many miners to resist, and the use of explosives became widespread during the gold rush era."
Detailed look at the dynamite 3D model. Looks nice, right? And not so "cartonish" red as you may think :D
