Atlantic update 1.0.1.0 Victory At Sea Atlantic Sets Sail!

We’ve been hard at work on a new update based on your feedback — check out the details below!
And we’re excited to announce that Victory At Sea Atlantic will officially leave Early Access and launch into full release on April 25th!

During Early Access, we’ve achieved what we set out to do: deliver major community-requested features and gather invaluable feedback from you, our dedicated players.
As with all our previous titles, this won’t be the end of the journey — we’ll continue supporting Victory At Sea Atlantic, and we’d love to hear your ideas for what comes next.

Update Notes

Gameplay:

  • All carrier-based bombers may now carry ASW payloads.

  • Single-fleet campaign XP progression now scales based on your fleet’s size and strength.

  • Player fleets can build aircraft instantly while in single-fleet mode.

  • Various performance optimisations.


Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where the UI could display incorrect weapon damage values on some ships.

  • The Type-XIV U-boat is no longer categorised as a battlecruiser.

  • Corrected weapons loadouts on County-class and Wichita-class cruisers.

  • Clicking on the minimap in fullscreen no longer issues unintended move orders.

  • Right-clicking aircraft buttons in combat won’t open the radial menu.

  • Resolved an issue preventing aircraft combats from starting correctly in single-fleet mode.

  • Prevented entering combats with non-player aircraft in single-fleet mode.

Victory At Sea Atlantic Now Supports Steam Workshop!

The wait is over—Victory At Sea Atlantic now officially supports Steam Workshop, making it easier than ever to share and discover community-created content!

This major update opens the floodgates for modders, with new tools and expanded customization options. Whether you're tweaking factions, adding your own custom flags and icons, or giving your captains unique portraits, this is your chance to shape the battlefield your way.

Modding Features:
Full Steam Workshop integration.

Edit factions, including support for custom flags and faction icons.

Add custom captain portraits to give your fleet even more personality.

Important Note for Modders: Mods created in version 0.41.0.0 will now require both Factions.csv and Portraits.csv to function correctly.

Gameplay Updates:
Added the USS Alabama, a variant of the South Dakota-class battleship.

Added the HMS Repulse, a variant of the Renown-class battlecruiser.

Introduced the Junkers Ju 88, a dive/torpedo bomber.

Left-clicking the ocean in combat now issues a move order—giving you more precise control in the heat of battle.

Visual & Audio Enhancements:
Ship captain portraits have been added, bringing more life to your command staff.

Battle results are now displayed on their own dedicated screen after custom battles.

Several gunfire sounds have been updated for a more impactful naval experience.

Bug Fixes:
Fixed an issue where campaign updates could occur during scenario combats.

Resolved a bug where rapidly enabling/disabling mods could cause partial data loading.

Victory At Sea Atlantic - Major Update: MOD Support & More! 0.41.0.3

Our latest major update has arrived in Victory At Sea Atlantic, introducing one of the most requested features: modding support!

This is the last of our big updates based on feedback so if you have anything else you want to add, small or large please let us know!

Alongside this, we’ve packed in numerous gameplay improvements, quality-of-life changes, and bug fixes to enhance your naval warfare experience.

Modding System Implemented
We’re thrilled to introduce the MOD system, allowing players to customize and expand Victory At Sea Atlantic like never before. Whether you want to tweak gameplay mechanics, add new content, or create entirely fresh experiences, this new system provides the tools to make it happen. We can't wait to see what the community creates!

We also have a request to make, if you are playing the game, please give us a review, good or bad, or good and bad! As long as it is constructive! We want feedback, it's the only way we can improve Atlantic!


Gameplay:

Implemented the modding system.
ASW bombers may be housed in level 1 airfields.
Increased the chances to detect a submersible as it launches a torpedo to 100%.
Added a compass to the game screen.
Added a weather report to the game screen.
The firing crosshair displays the range to the target position.
All ships show their current speed and bearing on a label.
Tooltips on damaged ship subsystems show their time to repair.
Adjusted the repair rate of ship subsystems.
Fleet AI better avoids hostile ports.
Airborne flights may be scrapped, giving no resources.

Visuals:

Added waves around shorelines in combat.
Ensured roads load in the correct place on the terrain.

Bug fixes:

Made sure the correct terrain loads in when raiding a port without landing craft.
Made sure the HMS Queen Elizabeth spawns in new campaigns.
Fixed a case of the tutorial getting stuck during the basic campaign tutorial.
Prevented new spotter aircraft being added to cruisers and battleships with ASW bomber payloads.
Aircraft bank in the correct direction when manually steering.

New Strategic Targets & Cinematic Visual Upgrades – Update Out Now!

Our latest Victory At Sea Atlantic update is here on our First Look Branch, bringing new strategic land targets to attack by sea and air, alongside enhanced visuals for a more cinematic experience! This update expands your tactical options while making battles more intense and immersive than ever.

In order to play this update go into your library, right click on the name Victory At Sea Atlantic and click Properties. under BETAS, select “First Look” there is no password required. We want to keep it on the First Look Branch for a short period before rolling it onto the main Branch as it is very big and while we have extensively tested it we want your opinions before we move forward!



What’s New in This Update?
Strategic Land Targets – Engage in assaults on crucial coastal and inland locations, disrupting enemy operations.
Naval and Aerial Strikes – Coordinate your fleet and aircraft to attack from multiple angles.

  • Limited the proximity to enemy ships at which submarines can be placed at the start of combat.
  • Reduced cargo ship armament.
  • Added huff-duff as a research project, allowing small ships to detect enemies at long ranges.
  • Removed radar from German U-boats.
  • Surfaced submersibles are harder to spot at night and in poor weather.
  • Increased research times on the TBF/TBM-3 Avenger research projects.



Visuals:

  • Improved post-processing effects.
  • Improved the motion of crashing aircraft.
  • Improved aircraft propeller rotation.
  • Added a visible torpedo projectile to the Fairey Swordfish.


Bug fixes:

  • Fixed a bug that could cause destroyed aircraft flights to linger on the map.
  • Stopped flights sometimes disappearing upon transfer between airfields.
  • Prevented structures potentially staying in the destroyed state after repairs.
  • Ensured all ships load in the correct positions when loading a save in combat.
  • Prevented camera trying to focus on distant ships during an aircraft-only combat.
  • Flight loss and friendly fleet sabotage use the correct audio clips.
  • Stopped alert popups appearing during the start combat stage.
  • Fixed text formatting on the loading screen for certain alphabets.
  • Submersible tankers are buildable in shipyards.
  • Aicraft flight icons don't show the construction icon when no longer under construction.
  • Fixed a case of a combat ending before torpedo bombs hit their target.
  • Prevent Germany from researching the allied planes research project.
  • Fixed the position of the power station in Bergen.
  • Flight stats still show on the flight button tooltip while the shift key is being held.
  • Torpedo tubes can reload outside combat.
  • Prevented some runway-based planes being used as cruiser/battleship spotters.
  • Fixed a bug potentially stopping time passing normally outside combat.
  • The Richelieu-class battleship's rear turrets use the correct weapon stats.
  • Stopped retreating planes being damaged in a combat after the end cutscene.
  • Anti-air coastal structure names change correctly after upgrading.
  • Stopped landing ships repeatedly taking zero damage from hits after the first.
  • Squadrons in circle formation can be rotated properly in combat setup.
