An Exciting New Update Rolls Into Railroad Corporation 2!

Hello everyone,

We hope you’ve all been enjoying your time on the rails, building networks, striking deals, and growing your corporation one station at a time!

Today, we’re excited to bring you a brand-new update! This one’s packed with exciting features, balancing improvements, and quality-of-life upgrades that we think will make your railroad adventures even more engaging.

[h5]New Features:[/h5]
The North Subjugation campaign has been expanded with a brand-new mission and a full CEO skills system. You’ll also find a Trading Department now available in your office, contracts for goods delivery, and a Finance Department overhaul that introduces loans, bonds, and a company credit rating system. More strategic depth? You got it.

When it comes to trains and infrastructure, we’ve added the 4-4-2 Atlantic locomotive to your research chart and introduced the brand-new Chemical Plant as a production building. Oh, and there's now a Trading Academy social building to boot.

We’ve also rebalanced commodity pricing, mining resources, and multiplayer staffing, among other adjustments to help the economic simulation feel even more dynamic and responsive.

And yes, there’s a whole wave of UI upgrades, bug fixes, and localization improvements that should make your railroad empire a smoother ride.

⚠️ Please note: This update comes with a full save wipe due to major system changes. But don’t worry—if you want to finish up your current playthrough first, the old version is still available on a separate branch.

You can check out the full patch notes for all the details. As always, thanks for being part of our journey. We can’t wait to hear what you think of the new additions!

Railroad Corporation 2: Disclaimer on an Upcoming Save File Wipe
Hello everyone,
We’ve got a quick heads-up for you today!

With the next update just around the corner, we wanted to let you know in advance that this patch will require a full save file wipe.

We know that’s never fun news to deliver, but we promise it’s for a good reason! The upcoming update brings many exciting new features and changes; unfortunately, some of that fresh content just doesn’t play nicely with the current build.

So, if you’ve been eyeing that last business deal or are mid-expansion on your rail network: now’s the time to wrap it up! Make the most of your progress before the new update rolls out.

That said, if you’re not quite ready to say goodbye to your current save, don’t worry. We’ll be keeping the current version of the game available on a separate branch, so you can always hop back in and finish up on your terms.

Thanks for your understanding. We can’t wait to show you what’s next!

Catch Our 6 Month Early Access Overview on YouTube!

Hey everyone!

It’s already been six months since Railroad Corporation 2 launched into Early Access back in October 2024, and we thought it’d be the perfect time to look back at what has happened so far. A bunch of exciting new additions have made it into the game, and our friends at Iceberg Interactive have prepared an overview video, showing off some of the features of the last 6 months.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

In December, the Autumn Biome was released, giving you the option of trading the snowy peaks of the winter biome for greener pastures. The new biome came with a variety of new maps with a variety of different playstyles:
 • Autumn Journey, a new, larger sandbox map.
 • Nature of Competition, a competitive 2-4 player map, where you can challenge your friends and see who can build the most successful railroad corporation.
 • Mutual Fund, a cooperative multiplayer map. Instead of competing against your friends, you now have to work together to expand your corporation’s reach!

Two months later, we added Generated Scenarios. You can now generate your own map, with the ability to tweak details according to your preference. Generated scenarios allow you to modify your terrain, add or remove raw materials, choose your objectives and much more - both in single- and multiplayer sessions.

Along with these big additions, there’s been a variety of other notable fixes and improvements throughout the last six months. We updated semaphores, which you can now freely place on the entirety of your track by Shift + Left click, allowing for a much smoother way to get multiple trains to use your tracks. The tax system has also been implemented, adding some difficulty to the game by having to pay taxes every year over the money you’ve made with your corporation.

There’s a slew of other changes that you can review by reading our previous blogs or our changelog. Early Access has been an incredibly exciting time and we can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.

Customize Your Sessions With Generated Scenarios!
Hello everyone,
It’s been a while since we dropped our last Early Access update back in December! We’ve been working hard over the past few months and we’re super excited about the slew of features we’re sharing with you today.

We know that some of you have probably already explored every inch of our pre-made maps. Well, we have good news: you’ll now be able to create your very own, user-generated landscapes!
Generated Scenarios: Craft Your Own Single- and Multiplayer Sessions
Start your railroad career on your own, uniquely customized maps! You can define your biome & terrain type, choose the size of your map & toggle the availability of certain raw materials. You can further customize your experience by setting your starting capital and handpicking the amount of commodity objectives in any given game.

Generated scenarios are also available in Multiplayer, meaning that you can create unique challenges for you and your friends. Any scenario you generate comes with a unique Random seed, that can be freely saved & shared!
Balancing & other fixes
As with any update, the updated version comes with a range of fixes. We made some improvements to the UI and fixed a variety of bugs that some of you reported! We’ve also improved the balancing on some of the trains and added level requirements in the lobbying department. We’ve also introduced a feature where warehouses can now be used by multiple players in Multiplayer co-op games!

If you want to read a detailed breakdown of our new features, improvements, and fixes, you can consult the full patch notes here.

As always, a heartfelt thank you goes out to the community for your ongoing support and insightful feedback. Your enthusiasm for the game inspires us to evolve with every new update! We can’t wait to hear what you think of the new scenario generator! As for us, we are starting to work on the next patch. :)
