Community vote no. 6: Companions

Adventurers, as we are approaching the next milestone, we have another community vote for you!

As promised, this one will be about companions. There are six options to choose from. While we can only add one companion for this milestone, the votes will help us decide which one to prioritize. If we add another companion later, your votes will serve as a great indicator of what players want to see. That's why we're giving you the chance to choose your top three favorites in the poll.

Version 0.3.9 patch - bug fixes

  • Fixed broken balcony door
  • Fixed suction pipe sucking the player out of bounds
  • Fixed game breaking bug, where items that shouldn't be saved (companions) would be saved in Wanst's house
  • Fixed blackscreen after companions gets transformed into monsters mid-fight
  • Fixed several blackscreens when changing the room
  • Fixed blobs not taking the correct amount of damage when hit by poison
  • Fixed coins being deleted from Wanst's house

  • Some safeties for weapons flying away when dropping them
  • Pipe System lever can't be triggered by throwing an item at it anymore (to prevent opening it without intending to)
  • Companions now drop the respawn bottle when the player dies
  • Companions no longer pickup gold sacks (or take money out of them)
  • Fixed broken balcony / instadeath bug
  • Fixed companions/enemies not freeing themselves when picking them up

  • Made Alva's hut prettier
  • Improved village for ultra wide resolutions
  • Adjusted pawnshop coin logic and added safeties. Items lying around in the shop will now be saved there if you close the game, to avoid losing gear that players are buying/selling. Items will be removed from there when starting a new run though.

  • Fixed the pawnshop lady not taking items
  • Fixed softlocks when buying (and getting hit by) a mousetrap or beartrap in the pawnshop
  • Fixed softlocks in pawnshop due to Wanst interrupting the dialogue
  • Fixed softlocks when talking to pipefitters/bard
  • Fixed many localization based dialogue errors for Turkish players
  • Fixed broken dialogues in village
  • Fixed freeze after putting Hammerguy Corpse into pipesystem
  • Fixed companions playing their enter door animation, when carrying them through a door
  • Fixed "infinite loop" on segment switch (crazy balcony/respawn interaction)
  • Fixed wizard damage area for dead wizards
  • Fixed blackscreen when freeing a companion as monster (and said companion falls into a gap)

  • Fixed armors from hooks randomly disappearing
  • Fixed broken Evelius after balcony skip (especially when he's in a chest)
  • Fixed floating characters after wind trap
  • Fixed enemies disappearing after pushing them into the trap door
  • Fixed empty chests in the village when starting in the village
  • Fixed floating items/companions when attacking gambler and added fallback for other scenarios of floating companions

  • Oven balancing changes
  • Small explosive kegs now also explode when throwing them at bats

Version 0.3.4 patch - bug fixes

  • Fixed dropping items from balcony. Only banana peels won't work at the moment, since they can randomly drop without the player wanting them down in the village. Corpses don't work as well.
  • Fixed game not having a main menu due to old saves
