Combat Overhaul update - May 27th 2024

Hello everyone,

I am excited to announce the release of the latest game update! This update completely overhauls most combat systems and adds in a stance based combat mode, updated mounted combat and updated tutorials. The update also contains a lot more polish, bugfixes and tweaks.

The main features of this update are:
  • Stance based combat: Fight enemy officers and in tournaments using the new stance based fencing system. It's a directional combat system using 3 guards with the addition of kicks and stabs to break up the flow.
  • Improved mounted combat: You are no longer a static character on a horse and can fully rotate while attacking allowing for a greater variety in strikes and attacks. You can also stab from horses. Along with this the mounted AI has been improved with visible targeting.
  • Tutorials: This update adds an updated player controls tutorial and a battle tutorial that teaches the basics of commanding your formations.
  • Pre battle parley: A couple of prebattle options have been added, you can challenge enemy commanders to single combat, do an instant charge or start deploying your army.
  • UI Polish: A lot of battle UI elements have received an upgrade in clarity and polish smoothing out your game experience.

I want to proudly anounce that Richard Yang is teaming up with me to help update the combat of the game. He is an ex-chivalry developer that shares the same passion to create the best medieval games possible.

You can expect the first big combat update to arrive this month featuring a new fencing system, overhauled mounted combat and many more quality of life improvements.

I am excited to have you on this journey with us and I can't wait to show the new combat features.
