Wizordum Dev Stream

Hello everyone!

It is so heartwarming to see so many people enjoying the Wizordum demo on this Steam Next Fest. We are getting close to November 15th, when we'll be releasing the Early Access version of the game, and I'm sure you might have many questions.

For this occasion, we'll be holding a first "Chat with Developer" Stream here on Steam while we build a custom level with the in-game level editor that will be available in the Early Access version of the game.

You're more than welcome to check out the Stream and have your questions prepared ;)

If you haven't played the demo yet, we encourage you to try it. It's not too long, so you should get a good taste of what's to come.

Thank you all for your support, and see you at the Stream! ːcc_candleː

Announcement: Release Date, New Demo & Apogee Entertainment

We are proud to share a new announcement trailer that features artwork from one and only Denis Loubet, the same artist who did the cover artwork for the Ultima and Wing Commander games.

Wizordum is finally coming to Early Access on November 15th at the price point of 14.99$ 🧙‍♂️

Early Access will feature an entire first episode (secret & bonus levels included) and in-game level editor tools to create custom levels/episodes that you can share online with others.

We partnered up with legendary Apogee Entertainment (original publishers of games like Duke Nukem, Wolfenstein 3D, Shadow Warrior, Rise of the Triad, Turbo Overkill..) to make the best game possible. In addition to that, we will be able to bring you the v1.0 version of the game much sooner.

You can download a new demo that features the updated first two levels of the first episode + a bonus level if you can find it. In addition to that, there are countless updates and fixes like new lighting, accessibility options (with more to come), a new weapon, a save/load system, a level selection and progression system, and so much more!

If you have any feedback from the demo, please leave it in the Steam Forums so we can improve the game or keep doing more of what you like.

This cheery, Hexen-like FPS declares war on goblins

s reported by Alpha Beta Gamer, the retro-style FPS Wizordum recently got its first playable demo as part of the 2022 Realm's Deep event. This fantasy-themed boomer shooter takes its cues from Raven Software's Heretic and Hexen, and has you fling fireballs at goblins in an overrun medieval town...

Demo update

One week has passed since we launched our first public demo, and the response we have received so far is astounding! It is nice to see many players enjoying the game, even if it's just a small demo, which means we are doing something right, and we'll keep doing what we do.

Although the feedback was overall very positive, you also reported some issues you were having with the game, so we tried to address most of them in this patch.
Updates ːCotcTorchː
• FOV slider added
  • Hitboxes and projectiles improved (you will hardly miss now with your weapons, and rats are much less of an annoyance)
  • Mouse sensitivity slider values adjusted
  • Default game settings updated
  • You can now switch weapons with a Scroll Wheel
  • Invisibility cloak duration increased from 10s to 15s
  • Bronze key visuals updated, so they look less like a gold key
  • More loot added to the barrels in both demo levels
  • You can now destroy grain sacks (yes, those are grain sacks and not gold bags)
  • Pillars have better collision
  • Gamepad controls improved which makes game playable on Steam Deck as well
    - Switching weapons with bumpers
    - Navigating consumables with D-PAD (left, right) and consuming them (up).
    - Interactions (South button)
    - Attack (triggers / west button)
    - Map (north button)
Fixes ːCotcShovelː
• Pressing ALT+TAB won't disable strafing anymore when returning to the game
  • Music is now looping properly
  • Goblin Berserk stray pixel removed from death animation
  • Weapon switching broken if you opened a map while firing
  • Cinematic black bars now work correctly on all resolutions
  • Invisibility effect won't stuck if you finish a level while under the effect
  • If you enter the passage (transition) while the pickup effect is in progress, the pickup glow effect won't be stuck.

With all these changes, the demo should be much more enjoyable, all thanks to your feedback! There are other things that we will be updating and fixing, but it will take a bit longer.

We read and appreciate all the feedback we get, even if we don't reply to you immediately. If you are new here, feel free to leave your feedback on Steam Forums, Discord or send it directly to our email.

Wizordum is 100% funded by Patreon, so if you would like to support the game further, this is something you can consider. Every little bit helps! ːcc_candleː
