  • We've transfered to the next version of Defold engine, hence some nice things, like more stable frame rate
  • Updated visuals for small ice sources
  • Fixed system of freezing/unfreezing ice sources




Notorious bug fixes:
  • Fixed one soft locking the game upon installing a Bonfire at the edge of the map
  • Fixed one with incorrect hints on programming buttons
  • Fixed one with incorrect code copying between Craftomates

Hey everyone!

This update is important to us, as it brings a bunch of new and handsome features to Craftomation 101! Without further ado...



[h3]Version 0.35 Is Released[/h3]
  • Research tree: get points for completing objects at the Command Center and unlock new commands for Craftomates
  • New commands: directed pick and directed drop - same as your regular pick and drop, but now you can specify which hand of a Craftomate an item goes to
  • New command: compare checks whether a Craftomate is holding same or different items in each hand. Further commands are exectued depending on the comparison result
  • Small resource deposits reworked: they now contain smaller amounts of items and have more visual degrading stages
  • Upgraded visuals for Sand, Coal Dust and Spark
  • Each Craftomate now has 2 animations for picking, dropping, mixing and eating items. Those animations are played randomly, making the game more visually pleasant
  • Upgraded visuals for frozen Rocket

Happy Friday, everyone!

Now, normally our update beat is once per fortnight, but this week is special, since our lead coder has just recently returned from a vacation :) That means two news, both good: 1 - there's an update today and 2 - we're back on our regular release beat, so: stay tuned for more new features and fixes in 2 weeks from now!

[h3]Version 0.34 Released![/h3]
  • Resources from large deposits no longer appear on the same tile as said deposit upon clicking - instead, they always bounce to neighbouring tiles
  • If there is a 'low_battery' trigger in your programming workfield, you can't add another one (as it used to break the game in certain cases)
  • If a CraftoMate places an interactive object (that includes Storages, Bonfires, Seeds and Spores) on a tile, said object is deployed in its functioning form. Previously, the player had to pick up and place that object manually in order to make it functional
  • Objects that consume resources over time (such as Bonfires) now allow extracting resources that have not yet been consumed (such as extra Fires from Bonfires)
  • The Rocket must now be unfrozen in two stages, in-game objectives have been reworked accordingly

Hey everyone!

As our development continues, new features emerge and sometimes they change the feeling of the game entirely!

This week, for example, we are introducing the 'Command Center' to the game, which serves as the base of operations for you and your Craftomates, along with providing you with tasks and rewards.

The idea behind this mechanics was to provide additional mini goals to the player, but later on it appeared to be excitingly consuming in itself: when we were play testing it, it was common to be carried away by doing what the shiny sphere tells you to do, instead of moving along the main task.

Give it a go, too! Craftomation 101 Alpha is free to play!

[h3]Version 0.33 Released![/h3]
  • New Building: Command Center - a structure back from the Source Planet, programmed to exchange certain exoplanet resources for goods and even CraftoMate parts
  • Connector Node in the editor redesigned
  • Fixed a bug that made items in a Craftomate's arms disappear upon loading a saved game
  • Fixed many nasty bugs from previous versions as well

Craftomation 101 is a craft automation game about funny programmable robots CraftoMates who can move, eat, and craft things needed to terraform a frozen planet.

You land on a frozen planet in a tiny rocket with a robot inside. Harvest and combine materials to discover new ones. Use visual programming to make the robot do the tiresome work for you. Slowly build a gang of self-sustaining robot workers and watch them terraform the planet.

The current state of the game: Active development, Free Alpha available.

What is Craftomation 101?

Update 32 Release notes
  • Bonfires system was completely reworked. There is no way to play using single fires anymore which is totally good news. Especially for CraftoMates who are always busy supplying bonfires now.
  • Brand new execution marker: see what items your CraftoMate is holding, Debug and see how execution is going right now.
  • Visual arguments in the coding panel. Now you can see what exactly object your CraftoMates is going to interact with.
  • A lot of objects were redrawn to meet the updated art style.
  • All craft ingredients are now open by default, craft whatever you are ready for.
  • Objectives are now able to inspect your world and autocomplete if you are awesome enough already.
  • Tens of bug fixes and performance improvements. Please let us know if the game isn't running smooth 60FPS in your web browser.
