CREATOR PREVIEW+TECHNICAL PLAYTEST! | NEIGHBORS: Suburban Warfare Dev Update #7



Hello dear NEIGHBORS!

As we are working intensely on the game, and to finalize a roadmap that we can share with you, we wanted to pop in here and tell you about some other fun news!

Starting now, we are taking applications for our Prelude, where content creators that are curious about visiting Heartsville and trying out the game can give us a holler. So if you're a creator, please email us at [email protected] or apply on our Lurkit page, and we'll be in touch. ːsteamhappyː

Do you have a favorite creator that you'd wanna se playing Neighbors? Give them a heads up that we are opening up the Prelude, it would be much appreciated! ːsteamthumbsupː

We also want to invite all players to another technical test for our dedicated servers! Come have a fun time and help us bang on the walls of the server to make sure it stands. We'll be having the test on Thursday March 13th, 16-17pm CET.

Hope to see you there, and we are hyped to tell you more about the game in the near future!

NEWS ABOUT RELEASE!?! | NEIGHBORS: Suburban Warfare Dev Update #6



Hello NEIGHBORS,

We have an announcement to make!

Neighbors: Suburban Warfare have been developed behind the curtains up until only recently. It has been an absolute blast to finally see it in the hands of the players at the recent playtests.

The reception so far has surpassed our wildest expectations. It has been nothing short of humbling. That said, it also became clear how valuable (and fun, annoying, rewarding, wholesome, weird even) it is to get feedback on what we are creating.

We have big dreams for Neighbors and we feel like we need you onboard to make them come true.



Several of you have called for us to release the game already. We don't feel we are quite there yet.
However, today we can announce that Neighbors: Suburban Warfare will release in Early Access.
Those of you familiar with our studio will know that we enjoy developing our games together with you, the players and we are genuinely excited for what is ahead. This decision allows us to put it in your hands sooner rather than later and we firmly believe it will enable us to create the best possible game for you all.

We are aware that Early Access is not for everyone. We understand. We hope those of you for which this is the case will stay patient with us and still be around for when we are ready to 1.0.



We know you will have questions. We are currently hard at work at a development roadmap for Neighbors: Sururban Warfare so that we can show you what we have in store for you.

PLAYTEST IN 2 DAYS!? | NEIGHBORS: Suburban Warfare Dev Update #5

Hello NEIGHBORS,

As announced in our last Dev Update, we had to postpone the Open Playtest because we made the hard decision to rework our matchmaking system. Previously Neighbors used local hosting, which will still be part of the game, but we are aiming to implement dedicated server usage.

Why? Fancy Shmancy matchmaking experience without getting kicked due to host problems and the ability to rejoin ongoing matches. ✨

To make sure everything goes smoothly, we have several test sessions with the community to check for bugs, errors, or if the whole thing just breaks the game [aww hell nah].

After successfully hosting two...yes you read that right...TWO matches on dedicated servers at the same time, we want to see how far we can go this Friday as we host a technical playtest.

Anyone who had access to the previous playtests, as we want to gather feedback from players who can compare the matchmaking experience to previous playtests.

Please check your email folder associated with Steam and see if you received a notification from STEAM. If you received an email regarding access to the game, you are invited to join. If you did NOT receive an email, we are sorry, but you can look forward to future play sessions. 💛💚💙

STABILITY PLAYTEST Timings | NEIGHBORS: Suburban Warfare Dev Update

We are SO excited to host the first playtest of the year. We have taken your feedback from the last playtest to heart and tried to address the most pressing issues immediately after we got back from the holiday hangover.

The Jackhammer B.B.B AKA THE BISH BASH BOSHER 9000, manufactured by "Homewrecker" inc. 🔨as ultimate destruction tool. Drops in a big Mystery Drop.



Our second map Serenity Summit ❄️☃️ is now playable for the very first time.



Button Icons for Xbox and Playstation Controllers 🎮

UI Sound Overhaul and new music. 🎶



[h3]BALANCING & FIXES[/h3]

Day & Night adjusted. Nights are now shorter. Days get progressively longer.

Reduced the amount of shops from 4 to 2. Backyard and Kitchen buying stations have been removed to remove clutter and let the game flow more.

Beartraps are now destroyable with Melee weapons.

REMOVED Magpie (aka the bird in a nest) as it was destructive to the game flow and just OP.

Limited the amount of available traps per team. Teams now share an overall amount of buyable DEFENSE items e.g. Baseball pitchers (10), Beartraps (20), Spring Boards (15) Barricades (15), Barb Wires (8) etc.

LOTS of VALUE BALANCING like e.g. Health of Structures, Baseball Pitchers, Doreen Nerf and more.



We are kicking off the playtest with a Developer Stream on our Discord server and look to showcase our recent changes and of course play with the community.
