Listen carefully, kid. Remember the weird symbols and sightings we've spotted across the wasteland in the past weeks and no one could figure out what it was all about? Well, there's a new visitor in the Wastes, somewhere.. I have a hunch they know something. 👀

What are you waiting for? Grab your helmet and your bike and go! There's a mystery to uncover!

Besides this intriguing, otherworldly mystery, this update also contains multiple fixes and improvements!

Additions
  • A new mystery awaits Turbo Kid in the wastelands.. Questions will be answered!


Improvements
  • Multiple improvements related to performance and physics.
  • Various work done in preparation for consoles upport.
  • Hogarth's first description is now displayed when speaking to him before completing the Scramblers quest.
  • Balanced the required times, scores and rewards for multiple Minigames.
  • The Minigame panel remains displayed when completing an arena until the reward is collected.
  • Rebalanced the Arena by slightly decreasing the amount of enemies and acid.
  • Improved map scroll with the keyboard by adding acceleration.


Fixes
  • Objects or behaviors are now properly activated or deactivated depending on player distance.
  • Fixed an issue where the Minigame reward wasn't giving scraps anymore.
  • Fixed the Singularist Thug speaking with bubbles instead of quips.
  • The text concerning Hogarth and his secret passage that appears after the Scramblers' ceremony will now only show up if the player has already spoken to Hogarth.
  • The extra dialogue for Naomi after getting a weapon chip will now only ever be shown once.
  • Fixed Hogarth calling you an honorary Scrambler before finishing the quest.
  • Game now checks if Return to Scramblers HQ objective is complete before Hogarth lets you pass.
  • Paddy on the Ramp of Judgement now restarts her dialogue if the player rudely moves away while she's talking! Poor Paddy :(
  • The weapon icon now updates if your lack of mana autoswitches you to the standard Turbo Blaster.
  • Fixed typos and line break issues in French.

Hey hey HEY! We're back with another update, kids! 🔥

Turbo Kid will be part of a few digital festivals soon, we'll have news for you. Until then, be sure to leave a review and tell your besties and favorite creators about the game, it helps a ton! 🙏

Without further ado, let's dive right into today's patch notes. Keep the bug reports and suggestions coming!

Improvements
  • Added a restart button to the Arena and Bike Tricks mini games.
  • Multiple tweaks and improvements to most of the boss fights.
  • New animation for the energy bar when getting an upgrade.
  • Improved texts in the menus.
  • Added a Discord button to the main menu. (Join us! https://turbokid.gg/discord )
  • Improved the auto-rotation on the bike so it's harder to fall when not using any tilts.
  • Added Naomi on the west side of the Skatepark to give you the zone intro if you arrive by the Junkyard teleporter
  • When the player runs out of Turbo Energy, the weapon is now automatically switched to the basic gun.
  • Tweaked the way scraps are displayed in the HUD: added scrap no longer decreases as the bank increases to help players better understand how much scrap is collected.
  • Updated localization for keyboard inputs.
  • Made the keyboard key instructions in the tutorial clearer.
  • Delayed the minimap appearing at the start of the game to improve the intro.
  • You can now save after completing a bike race minigame but before getting the reward.




Fixes
  • The Drone Spider now only shoots from the top instead of glitch out when the visual controller is disabled.
  • Adjusted the Oozinator arm position.
  • Stopped the Saw gun projectile from bouncing if the last hit destroys the target.
  • Fixed players being able to switch tabs even when a popup was displayed in the settings menu.
  • Tweaked some steel beams that were too difficult to grab.
  • Improved the performance on the scraps system.
  • Fixed an issue that stopped players going down ladder if they were partially on it and partially on solid ground.
  • The Flying head spawner was sometimes leaving the light on when destroyed.
  • Instructions for new weapons were displaying keyboard instructions instead of controller instructions when needed.
  • Fixed an issue where Becca and Witch would disappear after defeating Becca if the player moved far enough for them to be off-screen.
  • Added a missing Lighting gate switch to the map in the Skatepark.
  • Shooting while emoting was sometimes causing the animation transition to get stuck for a few seconds. Can y'all stop finding weird ways to break the game pls?? (but if you do anyways let us know)
  • Fixed some weirdness when trying to do tricks while both wheels were still on the floor.
  • Fixed an issue where bosses starting cutscenes would be skipped if the player died once during the current session.
  • Changed "Issac" to "Isaac". Our bad, dude.
  • Pressing back in the assist menu would sometimes close the whole menu.
  • Shivers would sometimes keep prompting you with "Y" when you finished his quest.
  • The Destroy GG reserves objective was being completed too soon.
  • Removed the random "Daddy!" dialog bubble that came out of nowhere in a cutscene.
  • Updated the German translation of "Cartridge". Thank you to those who reported this!
  • Naomi would sometimes trigger the Junkyard's intro cutscene even if the player has already been there.
  • The cutscene where Naomi prays in the Church would sometimes trigger even if the player was already past that point.

• Ensured that Shivers only appears at the gate after completing all three Shivers quests.
• Ensured that the WC Chip can still drop from the Control Panel even after obtaining the Air Dash.
• Added additional condition to check if the Jimmy 7 quest has not been completed before dropping the WC Chip.
• Fixed bug in Skatepark area where buzzsaws would quickly become desynchronized.
• Corrected the bug preventing the "Ending Jimmy 7" cutscene from appearing.
• Made sure Jimmy 7’s final notebook entry unlocks without having to talk to Naomi.

  • Improved how the achievements are triggered.
  • Tweaked the number of teleports in the Church.
  • Added a teleport in the Skatepark after the Ramp of Judgment, in the Sewers under the Scramblers' HQ and one after the really tough room after Hogwarth.
  • Multiple tweaks and improvements to the flow of Shivers' quest.

  • Fixed the number of teleports for the achievement from 19 to 26.
  • Removed unused teleport pads.
  • Removed Shivers' NPC marker in the Middle-Waste.
  • Fixed a loading bug around the Wasteland/Cliffs area.
  • Fixed an error with achievements references that didn't exist.
  • Fixed an issue during races where music was not stopping after a reset.
  • Fixed an issue in the Arena minigame where it was possible to have an unlocked stand when dying without saving after unlocking a stand.
  • Fixed an issue where double popups would break the menu.
  • Fixed VFXs not resetting well with Skeletron.
  • Fixed an issue with wrong teleports in the Basement for Shivers' quest.
  • Fixed an issue where talking to the Whack Sisters after sparing Becca was not revealing their last notebook entry.

  • Made sure the correct Turbo Child entry is revealed in the notebook when talking to him.
  • Fixed Becca's post fight Z and bubble tip.

  • Fixed an issue where the yellow door on the left side of the Witche's Lab remained closed if the player skipped the Witch VS Becca cutscene with a dodge roll. Seriously, how do QAs even find these bugs?! 🤯
  • Made sure players only unlock 1 Whack Sisters quest when reaching the Ramp of Judgment.
  • Fixed Kunoichi sometimes not appearing in the Church.

Gooooood day wastelanders! Bike chain oiled up? Good, we've got a nice big patch for you to ride through today. 🚴‍♂️

We've been watching ALL the streams and Youtube videos (no really, obsessively looking out for them! Be sure to post any and all Turbo Kid content on our Discord server) and it's been great seeing how everyone is enjoying Turbo Kid - it's great feedback too!

ANYWAYS, today's patch is pretty HUGE! Here's the deets:

Improvements
  • Added a new quest to unlock more teleports! That's all we'll say for now. 👀 Happy turtle hunting!



  • Updated the particle effects of the sawblade gates.
  • Added an energy tutorial video when the player gets his first weapon.
  • Added a pulsing effect to certain hint texts to better catch the player's eye.
  • Added a heavy jingle sound effect to the weapon beam.
  • Changed the sound effect of the loot sensor. It's lootier now.
  • Added the option to Restart Minigame in the menu!



  • Improved the Mecha Preacher's music.


Fixes
  • Fixed Laurent not giving his reward sometimes. (Cassette tape)
  • The Crayon Artist Achievement can now be unlocked! Talking to the Whack Sisters after having spared Becca was not revealing their last notebook entry.
  • Fixed the buzzsaw projectile bouncing against the edge of the skybox when shooting up from Jimmy 7's location.
  • Ensured the correct Turbo Child entry is revealed in the notebook when talking to him.
  • Set the correct Turbo Child variant depending on the selected hero.
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes, a text bubble would appear empty without allowing the player to press next.
  • Fixed the "œ" character missing from all texts in french.
  • Fixed double popups breaking the menu.
  • Bike: Removed solid collision on enemies and made it bounce on damage dealt instead.
  • Fixed the Hardboiled cartridge not protecting the player against Becca's attacks.
  • End Game: showing the accurate time if it's over 24 hours.
  • Fixed the bike spikes sometimes not resetting the grip timer when jumping off the bike.
  • Fixed Crash Teleport: fixed bike collision clipping through the floor after crashing.
