0.12a. Reworking of armor model and torpedoes turn logic
The armor model of all ships except Majestic has been reworked in order to increase the performance of large explosions. Openings in armored decks above magazines were modeled.
The number of projectiles that explode when an artillery turret is damaged is now randomized, and the maximum possible number of projectiles has been increased.
For barbette artillery mountings, when the turret is damaged, an explosion can now occur not only inside the turret, but also inside the barbette, which significantly increases the chance of establishing fire in corresponding magazines compartments.
The formula for calculating the initial velocity of projectile fragments has been slightly changed to increase the velocity.
The inertia of ships has been significantly increased.
A ballistic table button and an UI window have been added to the weapon control phase UI.
Torpedoes movement turn now doesn't switch the camera to torpedoes in case of a large expected distance to any ships. In this case, only a text label is now displayed, notifying a player that torpedoes are moving.
AI now uses torpedoes visibility to initiate evasive action. The fact of launching torpedoes is now detected by the AI only at a relatively short distance.
Sound effects for underwater projectile hits and explosions have been added.
Sound effects for spray particle effects have been added.
A couple of bugs have been fixed.
Update 0.112a. Bugfixes and damage model changes
Changed the blast hole area formula to make holes from smaller explosions much larger.
Ship collisions now cause significant amount of structural damage to nearby bulkheads.
A couple of bugs have been fixed.
Update 0.111a. Bugfixes and minor changes.
Slightly increased ocean rendering performance.
Slightly increased the range of blast waves in the air.
A selector has been added to the settings screen to control the visibility of ship labels UI in battle.
A couple of bugs have been fixed.
Update 0.11a. First cargo steamer ship and a convoy mission.
A cargo ships named ‘8000 tons cargo steamer’ has been added for both playable nations.
Added the mission ‘North Sea convoy’.
Increased armor reduction from multiple hits.
UI changes:
Added tooltips to the popup list of Fire/Launch button.
Added a UI size slider to the settings screen.
Added night brightness slider to the settings screen.
Camera azimuth indicator for movement and weapon control phases has been added to the UI.
The artillery elevation scale now shows the elevation relative to the deck and the elevation relative to the horizon if they are different.
The armor penetration table has been added to projectile type tooltip instead of the ‘Strength’ value.
The ‘Museum’ item was added to the main menu.
The end battle UI has been changed to support new battle objectives where the player or AI doesn't need to sink all enemy ships to win the battle, and thus may want to continue the battle even after the win/loose conditions are met.
Engine room telegraph and rudder angle keys can now be held down to re-perform corresponding actions.
A couple of minor UI changes.
Many bugs have been fixed.
Version 0.103a. Preemptive holes patching
Preemptive holes patching has been added. Holes can now be patched even if they haven't caused floods yet.
The mechanics of estimating the distance delta between ships, which is used by the AI, have been slightly changed. Distance estimation error now decreases slightly with each turn as ships get closer or farther away.
The buoyancy calculation method in the main menu scene has been changed to a faster one (the same as used in the battle 3D scene).
‘Underwater blur’ slider has been added to the Settings UI.
Increased the maximum zoom out distance and the default zoom out distance for the camera that follows projectile salvos.
In case of a miss, the waiting interval has been increased before switching from the camera following salvos to the ship's camera.
The minimum problem level and the minimum module damage, which were previously marked in green, are now marked in yellow.
The number of crew members required to patch holes has been significantly reduced.
