Beta Test Reworks and Balancing - v1.1.505

Hey Oracles,

Last batch of big reworks/balancing! (there could be another smaller one before sending the changes with the main branch though)
In this beta patch we focused on reworking/balancing out actions/mechanics from Sothis :sothis: and Orion :orionastrea: again, because we felt there were more room for improvements (specially Sothis).
Also we decided to buff some Events and balanced some enemies.
And we wanted to try out improving the map. We felt that some parts of the map weren't giving really meaningful choices to the player, so we tried reorganizing the map to try make it more consistent and make the choices more meaningful.

Important Note: All new actions currently have temporary icons/names and all of the new text is currently only available in English. All of the changes in the beta version are subject to change.

To access Astrea beta version:
  • Right-click Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles in your Steam Library
  • Select Properties...
  • Select the Betas tab
  • Click the Beta Participation dropdown and select the "beta" branch

[h3]Balancing[/h3]
Neutral
  • Reorganized maps from Chapter 1, 2 and 3.
  • There are fewer Chest locations now.
  • There are only 1 Destroy location per Chapter now.
  • 1 Duplicate location will always be available as an option at the end of Chapter 1 and Chapter 3.
  • Removed a node layer after first battle of Chapter 2.
  • Removed a node layer after second battle of Chapter 3.
  • Buffed Destroy Die location, increased destroy die amount from 1 to up to 2.
  • Reworked Broken Shrine, now there is a third choice "Destroy 4 non-Starter Die to gain 1 Star Blessing".
  • Nerfed sentinels start of turn repair, increased amount of turns to wait until repair from 1 to 2.
  • Buffed Dice Cage event, now the randomized die can be Epic Die.

  • Reworked Altar of Fractals event, removed first option "Duplicate any die from your dice pool.". Changed second option, now any die can be duplicated 3 times.
  • Buffed Elder Dicesmith event, increased Epic Die gain amount from 1 to 2.
  • Reworked Phase Satchel, now it applies 1 Boost at the start of each battle.
  • Buffed Astrium Vessel, decreased trigger amount from 50 to 20 and Boost applied from 2 to 1.
  • Nerfed Perpetual Clock, now it doesn't draw 1 additional die every turn anymore.
  • Buffed Artisan Staff, now sentinels gain Infinity Boost permanently.
  • Renamed Reroll Purify effect to Rolling Stars.
  • Reworked Hypersensitive Aura to stack with Hypersensitive Aura on other creatures.
  • Nerfed Punch Safe Die, changed 2 die faces from Purify Enemy to Unforgeable Purify Enemy.
  • Buffed Draw Balanced Die, changed a die face from Unforgeable Corrupt to Corrupt.
Moonie
  • Renamed Forge Dissolve Life to Deathrite.
  • Reworked Shadow Mastery, now player gain 1 Doom and additionally gains X Doom for each Corrupt action of any type in his hand.
Cellarius
  • Buffed Illuminating Compass, now also all enemies receive 1 Purification for each point of Corruption decreased on each die.
  • Reworked Geyser Uppercut, Refreshing Headbutt and Tidal Jet, now they apply Wave to the enemy only if Wave is lower than the amount required to trigger the additional ability. Decreased Refreshing Headbutt Wave requirement and cost from 6 to 5.
  • Buffed Forceful Stream dice values.
Hevelius
  • Renamed Unstable Scrapping to Enduring Scrapping.
  • Renamed Overloaded Repair to Enduring Repair.
Austra
  • Nerfed Brilliance Safe Die, changed 2 die faces from Purify + Brilliance to Unforgeable Purify + Brilliance.
Sothis
  • Buffed Fervorous Sundial, now it applies 1 Relief to a random target when Soul Heat is above 10 and is increased.
  • Buffed Pyramidal Anomaly, now it deals Purification X times, where X is player Soul Heat instead of half Soul Heat. Increased Purification from 2 to 3.
  • Buffed Bone Khopesh, now when reaching Soul Heat 5 it deals 6 Corruption to player and draw 1 die.
  • Reworked Spiritual Burst, now when below 5 Soul Heat it increases Soul Heat by 5 and deal 2 Corruption to all targets.
  • Reworked Desert Protection, now when below 5 Soul Heat it increases Soul Heat by 5 and apply 2 Reinforced to all targets.
  • Reworked Dune Surfing, now when below 6 Soul Heat it increases Soul Heat by 6 and add 2 Paralyzed Hex Die into player draw pool.
  • Reworked Ghastly Fire, now when below 6 Soul Heat it increases Soul Heat by 3 and apply 4 Affliction to any target.
  • Buffed Refreshing Mantra, now it won't decrease Soul Heat when equal or above the required Soul Heat.

  • Nerfed Comet Convergence dice values.

  • Nerfed Alchemical Revelation, now it decreases Astrium by 3 instead of 2.
  • Buffed Catalyst Convergence, now player also gain 1 Astrium.
  • Buffed Volatile Reaction, now player also gain 1 Astrium.
Enemies
  • Fallen Hermit Tainted Reef Hard Battle buffed, increased Max Corruption from 30 to 45.
  • Doomed Astronomer Astropolis Ruins Boss Battle reworked, now Armillary Rejector and Armillary Negator start with Eldritch Connection effect, that makes Doomed Astronomer receive half Purification of every Purification received by them.
  • Tormented Seer Ground Zero Normal Battle nerfed on all anomalies. Anomaly 0 changed an Area Corrupt 3 die face to Player Corrupt 3. Anomaly 3 increased Over Corruption from 7 to 8, decreased Meteor Rain die face from 5 to 4. Anomaly 8 increased Over Corruption from 6 to 7, decreased Meteor Rain die face from 6 to 5.
  • Shady Sculpture and Misty Urchiriuns Ground Zero Normal Battle changed to be a Hard Battle. Increasead Shady Sculpture Max Corruption from 80-90 to 100-110.
  • All Hard Battle enemies on Ground Zero, but Voidsmith, now have their Max Corruption increased on the second Hard Battle of Ground Zero.
  • Corrupted Moonie Astrea's Heart Boss Battle all Astrea nerfed. Astrea 1 decreased 1 die face Wound Hex 2 to Wound Hex 1, decreased Dusky Conversion from 3 to 2 and decreased Corrupted Enhance 2 + Corrupted Knowledge 2 die face to Corrupted Enhance 1 + Corrupted Knowledge 1. Astrea 3 decreased 2 die faces Wound Hex 3 to Wound Hex 2, decreased Dusky Conversion from 4 to 3 and decreased Corrupted Enhance 3 + Corrupted Knowledge 3 die face to Corrupted Enhance 2 + Corrupted Knowledge 2.


Bug Fixes
  • Fixed Unknown Device die always randomizing into an Epic Die on all levels.
  • Fixed Renewer Module not adding Recycle Virtue in Reroll Virtue slot when all other slots have a Virtue.
  • Fixed sentinels not drawing a second die when they are repaired and when they were broken they had a second die.

  • Decreased sentinels prices, now every level costs 150 Star Shards.
  • Reworked Sentinels break mechanic, now when a sentinel breaks it will be repaired after 1 whole turn, at the start of Draw Phase, before drawing dice, which means it will draw dice normally on the turn that it is repaired. For instance, if a sentinel breaks Turn 1, it will be repaired at the start of Turn 3 Draw Phase.
  • Buffed Solar Plexus Level 5, increased Discharge from 1 to 2 and die minimum Area Purify value from 1 to 2.
  • Buffed Armillary Sphere Auto-turret to 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8.

  • Updated Apian Lamp description to make it clear that Purification coming from Random Confuse also is dealt twice.
  • Updated Resonant Buzz description to make it clear that Purification coming from Random Confuse also triggers Resonant Buzz.
  • Buffed Celestial Dew, now it also works with Hex Die. Now it also increases Critical Multiplier by additionally 2 if the action is Random Confuse, which means that it will increase by 2 because the action is a Confuse action of any type and 2 more because it is a Random Confuse. Changed its description to make it more clear that the Critical Multiplier will be increased for each matched criteria.
  • Buffed Electrostatic Field, now it also works with Random Confuse.
  • Buffed Aerial Needle, now it also works with Random Confuse.

  • Fixed player not being able to play Amplify die when player didn't have any Purify 1 in his hand, but a sentinel or enemy had a Purify 1.

  • Fixed Obscure and Blighted Soul triggering on the first turn of the battle.
  • Fixed Player Vorpal Plate not being applied and dice getting stuck to mouse.

  • Buffed Celestial Dew, now it increases Critical Multiplier for each criteria matched. For instance a Random Purify on a Safe Die will increase Critical Multiplier by 4.
  • Buffed Guiding Chime, increased Wind Glide value from 1 to 2.
  • Balanced Winged Pinwheel Wind Skitter value from 10 to 4.

  • Reworked Resonant Buzz, now on the next X Purifications received by the player coming from a Random Purify action, all enemies receive 1 Purification for each Purification received by the player.
  • Buffed Brilliance dice values. Added 1 Draw 1 die face on Safe Die. Added 2 Draw 1 die faces on Balanced Die. Added Draw 1 to all die faces on Epic Die.
  • Buffed Dodge Safe Die values, added Purify 1 to 2 die faces.
  • Dazzling Light won't appear on Chapter 1 anymore.
  • Dancing Wings won't appear on Chapter 1 anymore.
  • Thundering Riposte Balanced Die and Risky Die won't appear on Chapter 1 anymore.
  • Charging Antennas won't appear on Chapter 1 anymore.

  • Fixed dice appearing on muted chapters when getting the dice from a random interaction (like Invoke, Dicesmith Statue, etc.).
  • Fixed Defiant Alarm softlocking the game when playing it.
  • Fixed the word Ruins from Astropolis Ruins being highlighted in yellow when Anomaly 10 is active.
  • Fixed Voidsmith not activating its Overcorruption action.
