Week 1 - Next Content Update and Post-Launch Update

[p]Thanks for playing and sharing your feedback! One week after launch, it’s awesome to see Jump Space in your hands. We’re focused on stability fixes and also working on new content.[/p][p][/p]
Next Content Update!
[p]The team is working in two parallel tracks. Part of the team is working on stability and the other part on our next update that brings new content. We’re currently working on:[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Hangar vendors: Got too many credits on your hands? Fret not, they’ll take them in exchange for some goods[/p]
  • [p]Melee weapons: No game is complete without a crowbar! Or a wrench! Or a…?[/p]
  • [p]More sectors: More is more![/p]
  • [p]Sector modifiers: They’ll change things up! We’ll talk more about this in coming posts[/p]
[p]We’re aiming to release this content update in a couple of weeks. [/p][p][/p]
What we’ve fixed - and will continue working on
  • [p]Investigating and optimizing memory usage on console and PC. We’re not done and the changes we’re currently testing reduce peak memory and should lower stutters/crashes on a range of hardware.[/p]
  • [p]Progress loss issues: we’ve tightened up the save system, and this will hopefully be resolved in the next hotfix.[/p]
  • [p]We’ve shipped a bunch of quality of life improvements and gameplay related fixes. We’ll continue to monitor and keep on fixing bugs hindering you from progressing in the game[/p]
[p][/p][h2]Online play issues[/h2][p]There was a period of downtime in Epic Online Services that affected many games, including ours. This caused connection problems for some players.[/p][p]To help in the future:[/p]
  • [p]We’re going to add better in-game server status/error messages instead of no notice[/p]
  • [p]We’re going to improve failover systems[/p]
  • [p]And we’re prioritizing offline mode sooner rather than later[/p]

250,000 Atirans joined the resistance! + What's Next + Hotfix 3

[h2]We're happy to announce that we're now 250,000 Atirans fighting the Legion of Steel! Thank you for the backup![/h2][p][/p][p]We're really looking forward to delivering more fixes and a lot more game to you. Please keep on sending bug reports and feedback to us. We know some are still not having the best experience and we're doing our best to fix the most critical issues. When it comes to priorities of bugs and fixes - we're prioritizing the stuff that doesn't let you progress or where you get stuck when playing. So stability first! We've written posts in the forums here and here to help you mitigate some of the most common issues we've encountered.[/p][p][/p][h2]What's Next[/h2][p]Yesterday we had a short livestream on our Discord to discuss how the launch has gone and what we're planning in the short and mid term. In the short term we're going to continue patching the game to fix the worst offenders. In the first content patch we're going to release a bunch of new sectors/levels and Vendors. So in the content patch you'll be able to visit new places, spend your currency in the Hangar, some tweaks and design fixes to the Dart ship, melee weapons and more!   • [p]Made sure “Unstuck” also resets the player’s Materia gun if it’s gone missing[/p]
  • [p]Fixed so weapons are not consumed/thrown by mistake when doing some actions quickly[/p]
  • [p]Fixed anti aliasing option being reset every restart[/p]
  • [p]Potential fix for waves in Data Extraction so you don’t get blocked to progress[/p]
  • [p]Made preview mesh position on deployable items such as ammo box and medi-mate smoother[/p]
  • [p]Adjusted collisions on a bunch of levels and tweaked culling triggers for better performance[/p]
  • [p]Added “Hold to Skip”-prompt in cinematics[/p]

    • [p]Adjusted auto aim on sentries[/p]
    • [p]Added subtitles to all cutscenes except for the first startup cinematic (will get subtitles soon!)[/p]
