Substance 3D Sampler 3.2

Substance 3D Sampler 3.2 is now available!

Among many fixes and improvements, the main new feature is the ability to set, visualize and preserve the real-world physical size of a material you imported or created.
That physical size is then written as part of your SBSAR material and can be used in other apps to set its tiling or scale automatically depending on the scale of the asset it's applied on.

The physical Size is already supported in Marvelous Designer, and both Painter and Stager will soon be able to leverage it along with other 3rd party 3D apps.

Another highlight is a new fabric weave generator, allowing you to create custom fabrics from scratch.

Substance 3D Sampler 3.1.2 Hotfix

We released a small hotfix update for Sampler.

Fixed:
  • [Interoperability] Open .sbsar file with Substance 3D Sampler from Bridge can fail on Windows (Adobe version only)
  • [Layers] Moving the only layer below itself will crash
  • [UI] Channel settings button disappears when changing language
  • [UI] The material name in Properties panel disappears after saving the project
  • [Assets] Clicking on "All libraries" can lead to a crash

Substance 3D Sampler is now available!

We listened and we heard you loud and clear! Substance 3D Sampler is now on Steam.

Sampler, formerly known as Alchemist, is an app dedicated to converting photographs into digital materials and assets in a few seconds and without any deep knowledge of material creation.

Take a photo of a wall, a ground or piece of fabric, drop it in Sampler and watch as the AI generates a full material for you with neutral lighting and accurate displacement (AI generation requires a NVidia GPU).
  • Combine some of the many filters in the layer stack to make your material seamless or remove unwanted details.
  • Mix multiple materials together to create complex surfaces.
  • Scatter pebbles, twigs, flowers or leaves.
  • Add procedural effects, like rust, dust, snow or water puddles.
