Development status update

[p]Hi everyone, just a quick update on current development status. First, you might have noticed my absence lately - I took a break for the holidays, but don't worry, development continues as normal from now on. [/p][p]As you can see from the roadmap, we're getting pretty close to hitting the full release milestone. As such, for the next several updates I would like to focus mainly on general polish, bug fixing and optimizations, to make the game ready and worthy of the full release status. This means there likely won't be any exciting new content in the near future, but some welcome quality of life changes should be coming, including some long-requested ones like locking furniture in place or better cargo placing system. [/p][p]I'm also aware that there's been many reports of performance issues and major bugs. I can't promise I'll be able to fix them all, but I'll be doing as much as I can to focus on those issues for the next few months of development leading up to full release. [/p][p]I hope everyone's been having a great time during the holiday season. Merry Christmas and happy new year, sailors![/p]

Update 0.34 Patch Notes

[p]New Features[/p][p]- map charting[/p][p]You can now plot charts on your maps using the newly added charting kit. Place a map on a table and use the charting kit on it to access the chart plotting system. You can draw lines and measure distances with a ruler, but be careful - lines cannot be erased![/p][p]Charting kits can be purchased in capital cities.[/p][p][/p][p]- oakum[/p][p]Oakum can now be used for temporary hull repairs. You can purchase barrels of oakum on most islands, and use them to patch holes in your ship for quick temporary repairs. Patching holes with oakum will stop leaks for a while, but doesn't actually repair the damage, so you'll still need to visit a shipyard eventually.[/p][p]The amount of oakum required to patch holes increases with the amount of damage and the size of the ship. When fully patched, it will stop all leaks completely, but will also deteriorate quickly. The rate of deterioration increases with the amount of oakum used, which means bigger holes will need more frequent patching.[/p][p][/p][p]Bug Fixes[/p][p]- improved the crate system to eliminate various crate-related bugs (disappearing items, etc)[/p][p]- you can now once again store lanterns and other hangable items in crates[/p][p]- fixed a bug where some world items would not spawn properly on old saves[/p][p]- barrels of sea water now sell for the same price as empty barrels[/p][p]- fixed a terrain collision bug in Mirage Mountain[/p][p]- fixed a bug where some potted plants would not load correctly[/p][p]- fixed a texture bug with the bucket[/p][p]- fixed a texture bug with the Al'Ankh map[/p][p][/p][p]PS: Info for modders: SaveablePrefab.instanceId is now assigned when the prefab is spawned/bought, which means all prefabs should now have their correct instanceId available at any time and will keep the same one between save/load.[/p]
