Kingdom Crier #35: Retooled Guided Experience and Paths!

Kingdom Crier #35 is here with an updated Guided Experience, Decorative Paths, a few QOL changes, and a Localization Progress Report!



Guided Experience

The Guided Experience has been retooled so that all functionality is available from the start to better reflect the full experience.

The conversation step has been reworked to focus on recruitment to better align with its role in the game.

In addition, there's a new UI that reflects progress with the ability to skip to the Next Step or End the Guided Experience in-game!

Decorative Paths

We've added Decorative Paths to help give your Mortals proper paths between your Buildings.

Dress up those entryways...

Or leverage the cusomization options to make a zen Garden!

We've had early discussions about the roles Slopes, Floors, and Paths could play in movement speed but it's a sizeable chunk of work, so it's on the list of things we're considering for now.

New Grass!

We've updated the Dense Grass Visuals.

They also better reflect Density - nice work Matt!

Quality of Life

[h3]Camera[/h3]
The Camera will now pan and rotate a little slower when zoomed in by default (tunable in the options).

As a bonus, height adjustments are now much less jarring. Embrace Verticality!

[h3]Dangerous Animals[/h3]
Dangerous Animals now act as a pack. This simplifies the logistics of clearing them off your lands.

NOTE: This also makes them more... uh... Dangerous. Be careful out there!

[h3]Confirmation Barks[/h3]
Mortals will now Vocalize when you order them to do something using their voice and pitch!

[h3]Imp Invasions[/h3]
We improved the performance both before and during Imp Invasions.

We halved the quantity (but not quality) of the loot they generate to lessen the burden of cleanup afterwards and improve mid-game balance.

[h3]Injuries[/h3]
Treatment Commands are not automatically issued for Injuries that need treatment.

Use Orders to assign your preferred Nurse or cancel the Command if you'd like to wait.

Localization Progress Report

Localization is well under way!

After much gnashing of teeth, the strings have all been harvested and are ready for translation.

We've chosen a partner to provide the initial translations!

We've chosen French, German, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Russian to start with.

We're planning a public Beta, but we're still a month or more out - hang in there.
