Portrait Art Update

If you’ve played the beta versions of Pine Lily Village last year, you would have seen the old portrait art for the villagers. In my opinion, it was a bit lacking. I did my best but I wasn’t happy with what I could create on my own.

So, I contacted an artist who agreed to remake all the portraits. She was great to work with and I’m super happy with what she created. The NPC portraits now have greater detail and a larger number of expressions which really brings them to life.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Finn is the carpenter and rancher for Pine Lily village. He is very easy going and always happy to help out.

Helena is the tavern owner and is married to Garin, the chef. She likes to gossip but also enjoys hosting everyone in the tavern in the evening.

Lady Valeska is a retired professor from the Arnfell Academy. She is strict but fair and helps the player by creating the spells used in combat.

Post Demo Launch Update

I want to thank everyone who played the demo and especially those who have given feedback and bug reports. It really helps me out and I appreciate everyone’s patience with me as I work to squash any bugs that get reported.

I have made many updates to the demo since launch but was able to make a large change this past week, most notably changing how the tools work in the game. They are now a permanent fixture on the bottom hot bar instead of in your inventory. They are no longer taking up precious inventory space but you also can’t accidently leave them at your farm as you head into the mountain to gather resources.

Because of how impactful this change is, old save files will not be compatible with this update!

I apologize for any inconvenience and will try to do this as little as possible going forward.

Demo Available Now!

I’m so excited to announce that the public demo for Pine Lily Village is now live! This is a huge step for the game’s development and I can’t wait for more people to play the game.

If you follow any content creators (YouTube, Twitch, etc.) who would enjoy playing a new cozy farming sim, please let them know the demo is out now. It really helps increase the impact of the demo launch which, in turn, allows more people to discover the game. 😊
