🛠️ Version 1.0.2

Updates
• Steam Presence Status: Steam will now display a presence status for your friends list based on where you are located in the game! See the screenshots below for some examples.

  • Museum Artefacts: Players should now always encounter undiscovered artefacts in the Procedural Dungeons. This should make unlocking the Archaeologist achievement less frustrating. Once players have discovered them all it will return to a randomized artefact.

  • Selection Highlight Toggle (H) will now persist between level transitions.

  • Slightly tweaked the text displayed after completing the main quest. It simply adds a subtle reminder to talk to Skye to finish of remaining quests that were introduced later in the Early Access period. Anyone who has already beat the game is not missing much!

  • Removed the prominent "Report a Bug" button on the main menu, which was only intended to display during the Early Access period. Statistically this was very rarely used anyway!
    • For any bugs/issues please report them via the Discord, social media, or the Steam forum found on the store page.

Patch 1.0.1

Hello everyone!

Before I get to the notes - thank you to those who have purchased and played the game. It really means a lot!

The launch gave the game a heap of visibility and a bump in wishlists & purchases - but did you know that only a small fraction of those numbers go on to leave a review?

If you've bought the game and played enough to form an opinion, please leave a review on the store page! It really helps, especially for smaller games like mine!
🛠️Version 1.0.1
I'm happy to say that the Early Access period really helped iron out the major bugs during the game's development.

Regardless - today I have a small update that adds some video display options and addresses some minor issues that came up from the release. Thanks to the various players who reported these issues!
Updates
• The settings menu has been visually reorganised and split into categories to accommodate new options (for this update, and more that may be introduced in the future).
  • Players can now adjust screen resolution and fullscreen/window options within the settings menu.
    • Note: The game has a responsive UI with an emphasis on text legibility, personally I have found this working best on Windowed or Windowed Fullscreen modes, but the option to change it is now there for your preference.
  • Changed Noneye Desert footprint sound to be more appropriate for sand.
Bugfixes
• Fixed an issue where the house variants in the city building options were not using up the resources in Lucas' storage box. (sorry, no more free houses!)
  • Fixed an issue where character creation scroll bars were not responding to the right thumbstick when using a controller.
  • Fixed an issue where footsteps could not be heard around the Worm's Tail beach and water areas.
  • Fixed a rare instance where font legibility would be sub-optimal in high DPI cases.
  • Fixed a rare instance where it would not be possible to return from procedurally generated areas due to the return sign post being obstructed by an object.
  • Fixed an issue where the watering can region highlights would not disappear after cancelling a pending watering action.
Demo
• All relevant updates have also been applied to the demo too. 🐝

💃 Tales from The Dancing Moon 1.0 is out now! 🌙

"Tales from The Dancing Moon is a personal project of mine that I chipped away at for many years. The embers of it's story were lit over ten years ago during my time at University, starting as a novel with Young Adult themes and slowly morphed into what you see now - an indie game with inspirations from life-sim and isometric RPG games (whilst maintaining that core story-driven theme).

In December of 2023 I released the Early Access, gaining a small audience and receiving more tangible and constructive feedback. I'm now happy to have reached a point where I can safely say the game is the most complete and stable version it has ever been, achieving all of what I set out to do for it. I invite old and new players to enjoy the unique story, life-sim gameplay and many improvements that have brought the game up to version 1.0!"
What is Tales from The Dancing Moon?
The game was born from a desire to create a life-sim game with a unique blend of strong storytelling and casual gameplay mixed with the aesthetics of an isometric RPG. It's true selling point is the character driven main quest that lures the player along in it's 3 act narrative.

The game offers a multitude of charming side quests and mini games such as farming, fishing, cooking, tea brewing, light combat, procedural dungeons, and more. All of which provide endless sandbox opportunities even when the story is finished!
