Wantless Demo Available Now!
Hi there fellow gamers!
We hope 2023 is treating you well. ♥
We have many exciting news to share today and it's hard to decide where to even begin! We should probably start with what should interest you the most: the playable demo is out! You can download it from the store page.

As you can imagine, this represents an important milestone for us, as it is the first time we deliver our work to you in a playable format. Needless to say, we are eager (and also a tad anxious) to hear your feedback! Making that little part of Wantless publicly available is in itself an accomplishment we are very excited about. At the same time, there is still a lot of work to be done, and what you will play is just a taste of what the final product might be. Nevertheless, we truly hope you will enjoy what the demo has to offer!

As one of the last transposers in a world lost to despair, patients flow to your lab to have their issues removed from their psyche. Once in their mind maze, it will be up to you to eradicate the woes while preserving the good memories. With eight action points per turn, you can decide to move up to eight times, or strike your foes senseless before they even get the chance to retaliate. What's the catch? When your turn is over, all of your enemies play the same number of points as you've just spent. Be careful with your positioning, or you're in for a rough awakening!
The demo features over a dozen enemies and bosses. More importantly, it will give you a glimpse of the skill crafting potential in Wantless. As it stands, you will have several thousand available combinations to play around in the skill creation menu. Let us know how that goes!
At one point, you will meet Maurel, your first "unique" patient. Maurel has issues, and wants to be put to sleep. This should be routine for a skilled transposer. However, once in his head you will find that things don't go as planned...

Wantless has been a labour of love from day one. It's hard to believe our 2-men team has been at it for so long already! With the development coming along nicely, we felt it was time for us to seek reinforcement as we head into the next stage of this epic marathon. This is why we are happy to report that we have partnered with Twin Sails Interactive for publishing Wantless.
Twin Sails has the experience we were looking for with both tactical RPG and indie developpers. They have worked on several successful titles such as Gloomhaven, and upcoming indie gems like Ember Knights, so we felt they were the right fit for us. They have already started to assist us and we are counting on their expertise to help us make Wantless even better!
Additionally, we have hired a new team member internally, which means Drop Rate Studio is now counting three people!

For those of you not familiar, the Steam Next Fest is an online multi-day celebration of upcoming games, and a first class opportunity to discover and play hundreds of demos, watch developer livestreams, and chat with the teams. Well, we'll be there!

With the demo out, we're sure many of you will want to get in touch, discuss the best skills to craft or simply follow our news. We're more than happy to help you do just that! So give us a shout on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, or simply head over to our Discord server if you prefer more direct interactions. We have also set up a community section over on Reddit.
Take care of yourself, hope to see you soon!
