Get a glimpse of the tech behind Den of Wolves

After we announced Den of Wolves last December, we’ve been busy building the techno-thriller heist game of our twisted dreams. While we are not ready to show any extensive gameplay yet, we can give you a glimpse into the game's visuals, running the latest version of Unity. It's recorded from a work-in-progress warehouse level, one of numerous environments in the game, and features a first, very early look at one of the enemy types you'll encounter. This was part of a presentation during Unity's developer conference, where studios from all over the world meet and discuss the technical aspect of making games.

As with all game development, things are subject to change (or even be scrapped) but we wanted to share this sneak peek behind the scenes.

Meet us at Gamescom

Gamescom, where hundreds of thousands of gaming enthusiasts meet to experience the latest and greatest in gaming, starts in less than one week. Den of Wolves will be a part of the Level Infinite booth and while it’s still too early to show anything new from the game you can expect challenges on the stage, photo booth and opportunities to grab Den of Wolves merch.

Let us now in the comments if you are planning to attend Gamescom and if so, come see us in Hall 6, from Wednesday the 21st of August to Sunday the 24th.

Simon Viklund making Den of Wolves sound badass

What’s extremely important while carrying out heists? That it sounds badass while doing it. To ensure that for Den of Wolves, we have Simon Viklund, known for his music for Payday: The Heist and PAYDAY 2, as a composer – but he’ll also bring in some help from others. We just released a mini-documentary where Simon Viklund discusses his music for Den of Wolves and his collaboration with Jamie Christopherson (Metal Gear Rising) and Greg Ellis (Argo, Transformers, Godzilla) – everything to make the tunes to your heisting as heavy as possible.

You want more? Good, because we’ve decided not to let you wait until the game releases to hear the long version of the banger – INJECT - at the end of the Den of Wolves trailer. It is now live on all major music streaming platforms; find yours here: https://simonviklund.hearnow.com/inject

YOU WANT MORE? Okay. We also made a music video for the track with some crazy talented folks. Watch and listen below:

The evolution of masks in Den of Wolves

The oldest human-made masks ever found date back 9 000 years, supposedly worn by early farmers in ancestral rituals. From then on, humans have sculpted masks for various occasions and reasons. Theater, protection from projectiles or to hide your identity – which is why masks have been integral to the heist genre from the start. And in this new video our creative leads discuss their legacy and the evolution of masks in Den of Wolves. A sometimes ruthless process.
