Oh boy, this one is dangerous! We’ve got a new update that brings some new fight mechanics into the game. It's pretty experimental, and we are deeply sorry about the bugs. Also, the jump mechanic was finally added! Yey. As always, please wait with your negative reviews and do share your thoughts on our Discord

[h3]New stuff[/h3]

  • Can now craft from nearby village stockpiles or other inventories (except NPCs)
  • Added jumping and sidehop when targeting, can still roll while targeting by running and dodging
  • Club combo changed from 3 hit to 2 hit, with the 2nd hit able to be charged, and it chains back into the first hit; deals knockback and double damage if fully charged
  • Most received attacks now trigger a flinch animation instead of full knockback
  • Only specific attacks now cause the player to tumble--bear swipe, bison charge, mammoth slam

Hello, friends and players! We’ve got a new update that should improve the game.
It was only possible because of your excellent feedback and reports, and for that, we are truly thankful. And again, please bear with us as we roll this out, and help us make Polylithic better by reporting any bugs or issues on our Discord

[h3]Fixes[/h3]

  • New Grizzly Bear model replaces the old bear
  • Fixed loading of scales and rotations of particular terrain objects in Story
  • Adjusted the center position of the 3rd base camp
  • Skill levels are now correctly reflected when selecting tasks from the Shaman
  • Fixed fireflies
  • Randomize Seed button when creating a new Sandbox world
  • Seed field now blocks erroneous values
  • Fixed camera controller binding being shown when using Mouse/Keyboard


The plan is to polish the new features in the upcoming minor updates and continue working on the new Fight system, the New Campaign Story, multiplayer, and the Sandbox improvements to prepare for the 1.0 release. Do you have any cool ideas? Please let us know.

  • Fixed an issue that would degrade graphics performance over time
  • Javelins and Arrows now fall to the ground when animals despawn
  • Game no longer softlocks if you close the menu while loading
  • Various fixes and tweaks to the pause menu
  • Quest sequence acceptance has been streamlined
  • Fixed infinite item generation when restarting in certain circumstances
  • Localization tweaks
  • Fix the behaviors of houses when unloading chunks
  • Buildings and bed assignments are properly saved and loaded
  • Some unnecessary mechanics are hidden in the Prologue

[h3]New Happiness System & Tribe Overview (Beta)[/h3]



  • Global Happiness System added – affects the entire tribe.
  • Food variety and surplus provide happiness boosts, rationing and scarcity cause drops.
  • Each tribe member needs a place to stay and a bed to sleep on
  • Housing Types: Stalk Cover, Hut, and House with different capacities and decoration support.
  • Decorations now boost happiness (varies by housing).
  • The decoration bonus applies only if people live in the house.
  • Luxury Foods (bread, milk, meat) give happiness boosts.
  • Tribe size now impacts happiness via a member penalty.
  • Envy system added – members may get unhappy if housed unequally.
  • Without proper food, housing, and decoration, happiness drops.
  • At low happiness, tribe members may leave.
  • Max sustainable tribe size (without issues): ~13 with full luxury setup.
  • Overloading on poor housing types leads to limited happiness.
  • New window for the tribe overview.
  • New window for resources overview.


The next step will be to add the positive and negative effects and balance the system more.

We did our first multiplayer test today! 🎉 It's still a work in progress, but it’s already a blast (though sadly, my mic wasn’t recorded). If you want to help shape the future of Polylithic multiplayer and jump into beta testing with us, please let us know!
