Community Dash 9#
[p]Dear Earthling,
[/p][p]First off, I want to thank you all for the positive support I’ve been receiving. It really means a lot to me and is great fuel to keep moving forward.
The reason I’m posting this Community Dash is because I want to explain and discuss some things that are going on. Let’s start with the positive things, shall we?
REFUNDS
The refund rate this month went down from a whopping 24.9% to just 11.5%, which is really amazing. Reducing the refund rate was and still is my highest priority. I think this improvement mainly comes from adding a tutorial at the beginning of the game, as well as much more content than before. I know the game isn’t perfect, but I’m working really hard on improving it, and it seems that the hard work is paying off.[/p][p]
SALES[/p][p]![]()
Out Of Orbit sold 454 copies this month and is still going strong. That’s nearly $4,000 in gross revenue, which is absolutely amazing. It nearly brings me to tears knowing that the game is generally being experienced positively. My goal of becoming a full-time indie game developer is getting closer and closer, and I’m truly thankful for this.
So, with all of this out of the way, it’s time for something less positive.
CRASHES AND BUGS
Before I continue, I want to apologize for all the lost save files and other issues the game currently has. I also want to thank the player base for actively hunting these bugs and crashes, helping make the game a more fun and stable experience.[/p][p]That being said, I am fully aware that the game still has severe issues regarding bugs and crashes. The good news is that all reported game-breaking and save-corrupting crashes have been fixed. That’s not to say the game won’t crash again, if it does, please report it to me so I can fix it as soon as possible.[/p][p]I’m also aware that crew members sometimes have buggy schedules, the AI occasionally gets stuck, and other small issues remain. I want to make this game as fun as possible for you because you all deserve a solid experience![/p][p]The reason these issues happen, and this is not an excuse, is that I’m just one person making this game, while also raising a 4-month-old baby boy and a 3-year-old daughter with epilepsy, and working a full-time retail job. Sometimes it’s too much to control every aspect of the game, especially as it grows so well. I don’t mean this in a negative way, I’m truly grateful for everything, but I’m just one person trying to juggle a lot at once.[/p][p]I know this is not an excuse, but it’s the reason for it. I hope you can understand. And please, don’t stop sending me bug reports, keep them coming![/p][p]
BEST WISHES!
Thank you for making my life better by allowing me to pursue what I truly want to become in life.
I wish you all the best in 2026 and a great head start to the year. Let's make 2026 a even better year!
[/p][p]Thank you very much!
