[p][/p][p][/p][p]Dear Earthlings! [/p][p]It's been quite a long time since I uploaded one of these dev diaries, so it's time for a new one! I have lots of updates and plenty of things to show you.


Bought A House[/p][p]Let’s start with some amazing personal news! My wife and I are currently in the process of buying our first house. We made an offer on a place and it got accepted! Now I just need to get all the paperwork sorted for the mortgage.[/p][p]This has been taking up a lot of my free time and it will consume more, and some valuable development time as well. We’re planning to move into our new home around May 8th. The house will have a garden for the kids, so in the summer we’ll be able to set up a swimming pool and a sandbox for them. A thousand times better than the tiny apartment we’re renting right now![/p][p]It’s a very exciting time, but also a pretty stressful one!

I also want to take this opportunity to say how incredibly grateful I am for how this game development journey has been going. Without you guys, I wouldn’t have been able to buy a house. Truly, thank you so much for all the support ❤️


RPG Update III[/p][p]Since development is a bit slower due to the housing situation, I’ll be releasing the RPG update in three parts. Part 1 has already been released, Part 2 will be coming very shortly, and Part 3 will follow at a later time.[/p][p]This way, you won’t have to wait too long for new content, and it also ensures I don’t have to rush the RPG update.

Now that that’s out of the way, it’s time to take a look at the development progress!


Sprite redesign[/p][p]A community member named EXPERRIENCEE has offered to rework some of the sprites,and the results look amazing! Take a look at the pistol sprite below!


[/p][p]Forcefields[/p][p]I’ve also been working on a new feature: forcefields. With the upcoming RPG Update Part 2, you’ll be able to craft forcefields. There will be three sizes: small, medium, and large.[/p][p]Forcefields can stop incoming bullets from hitting your spaceship, making them an excellent defensive tactic. They also give you an advantage when attacking other ships, but be aware: enemy ships can have forcefields too!

New Starmap[/p][p]The new starmap has also been completed! It comes with a fog of war feature to enhance the sense of exploration.[/p][p]It will show quest markers, so you’ll always know where to go for your missions. There’s also a window where you can see the current positions of your fleet, keeping you fully in control of your forces.

[/p][p]Shipyard[/p][p]The new shipyard has also been completed! At this space station, you’ll be able to buy and sell spaceships.


That’s about all I can show you for now. Most of my work recently has been focused on coding. I upgraded the save format and made sure that everything saves and loads properly.


BETA BRANCH[/p][p]The Beta Branch for RPG Update Part 2 will be uploaded very soon, I’m in the final stages of development. Just like previous updates, the beta branch’s main purpose is to catch bugs and allow playtesting. I’ll let you know as soon as it’s live!
