[GLOBAL UPDATE] VERSION 0.90.0

  • A system of destruction of buildings has been implemented (for now only in the desert biome, now all objects on the map can be destroyed). This system will continue to develop, we are creating new houses (under our destructibility system) and will replace all old buildings in the game with them.
  • The recoil system of small arms has been completely redesigned, recoil settings for weapons have been added to the game menu.
  • Diplomacy has been improved (detailed information about factions has been added).
  • AI on the global map has been improved (production, research, diplomacy, etc.).
  • AI balance has been fixed (troop development and accumulation).
  • The tactical game mode has been improved (controls, order system have been changed, effects for player units have been added). In the future, squad formation, fire mode, individual soldier selection, etc. will be implemented.
  • Improved camera in tactical game mode.
  • Added "fog of war" to tactical game mode. In fact, "fog of war" shows the "sight" range of your troops.
  • Added new interface elements to tactical game mode. Using the command panel, you can change the position of troops, set the fire mode, movement mode, attack mode, etc.
  • Improved AI for armored vehicles.
  • Fixed a bug due to which at the beginning of the tactical campaign the enemy had armored personnel carriers and tanks (although there should have been infantry).
  • Added a new order for squads (auto-attack mode).

To avoid a "snowball" at a late stage of the game (when the player has dozens of cities, and in each one it is necessary to establish production, logistics, etc.), we are developing a "vassalization" system (install your puppet government in the captured republic). Every month, reservists, goods and money from the vassal republics will be delivered to your capital. In rare cases, riots and national uprisings will be possible. This mechanic will significantly improve the gameplay, including logically completing another mechanic - "condemnation" of the player for too aggressive seizure of territories.
This system will appear in the next updates.

Work is underway to develop an "ambush" system and a "mining" system for the global game mode.

Work on the multiplayer part of the game continues, we are working on synchronizing armored vehicles.
The multiplayer part of the game is available in the "beta version" branch.

  • A radio and voice chat have been added.
  • The "killfeed" has been improved.
  • The results table has been added.
  • Test chats have been added both to the menu and to the game itself.
  • Added an outline for players and display of a nickname when hovering.
  • Fixed the end-of-game menu.
  • Fixed some errors in gamepad control.
  • Fixed the display of avatars.
  • Added distribution of players by colors.
  • Fixed some errors in the mine menu.
  • Fixed the network code.

P.S.: We have developed a mod to speed up research, etc. for the global campaign. You can find it in the workshop. You can easily create a variety of modifications for the game yourself, do not forget about it.

[INFO] Multiplayer

We have been hinting at the introduction of multiplayer and co-op modes to the game for a while now. These innovations will be able to make the gameplay more exciting by adding the ability to interact with other players. Below is a roadmap of future multiplayer and co-op features based on the current situation and assumptions about the direction of the game.

  • Stage 1: Co-op mode
Expected date: October 20, 2024.

The first stage includes the introduction of a co-op mode, where players will be able to unite to carry out missions against artificial intelligence.
In co-op mode, players will be able to coordinate their actions, distribute roles and jointly control troops to achieve victory.
Key features:
Co-op missions for up to 4 players.
Co-operative tactical decisions on the map.
Unique co-op missions and scenarios.

  • Stage 2: Testing and implementation of PvP multiplayer
Expected date: End of 2024.

At this stage, we plan to add multiplayer support, which will allow players to participate in battles against each other in real time. The game will become more dynamic due to PvP - battles on pre-created maps.
The main task will be server testing and optimization of the network code for stable operation of the game in conditions of many players.
Key features:
Battles up to 10 players on one map.
A variety of battle settings.
The ability to customize your own army and tactics before the battle.

  • Stage 3: Global multiplayer campaigns
Expected date: beginning - mid-2025.

At this stage, players will be given access to global multiplayer campaigns, which will combine elements of tactical battles with a global strategy. Players will be able to capture territories, create alliances and develop their factions.
The diplomacy system and trade between players will become an important element in this mode.
Key features:
A global map with several players.
Diplomacy, trade and alliances.
The player's influence on the political situation in the world.

The introduction of multiplayer and co-op in "Total Conflict: Resistance" will open up new horizons for players. Joint battles, competition with friends and strategic thinking in real time will allow you to immerse yourself in the game from a new side. Stay tuned and get ready for exciting battles!
