Testing FXAA on Experimental PC branch!
We have one more big visual improvement we weren't able to get ready in time for the recent milestone update, but we've implemented it on the experimental branch (on PC only!) for players to check out and enjoy. We'd like to take some time getting data from players before we implement it into the main game build. (Also, we need to localize the new settings text and our localizers are all on break for the year. We should be too, probably.... But making games is so fun....)
The effect is called FXAA (Fast approXimate Anti Aliasing) and it helps to soften the "jaggy" edges of 3D geometry. Our implementation is a bit unique in that it softens the background 3D elements, but not the 2D characters, so it helps reinforce the game's visual style which contrasts 2D and 3D elements. Here's an example:

Disabled:
It's... subtle. But an unambiguous improvement in our eyes!
Enjoy a nicer-looking game in the experimental branch!
