This is just a quick announcement that Dawn Apart is featured in this year's gamescom - both physically on the showfloor in Cologne, Germany and digitally as part of gamescom's Steam event!

Dawn Apart 0.79.1.3 Patch Notes

Hey Everyone!
[p][/p][p]We have another update today with lots of changes and fixes. We are still hard at work improving the game and addressing feedback. I think we'll most likely have another round of small updates next week and hopefully soon after that we are going to start working on new systems to put into the game![/p][h2]Changes[/h2]
  • [p]Added logic for agents to consider loose items for stock up actions (crafting/building/feeding) and allow them to collect from multiple sources[/p]
    • [p]This was a huge missing piece. Previously you could soft lock the game if you ran out of storage space or deconstructed every stockpile. Now agents will use items directly from the ground if they are not available in stockpiles, and if no loose items are available they will check the conveyor belts.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed stockpiles not properly updating feeder valid/want items[/p]
  • [p]Fixed trees and plants growing back on the second save/load cycle of a game[/p]
  • [p]Added logic to uninstall decorations with agents[/p]
  • [p]Edited certain world regions to have nicer terrain when decorations are removed[/p]
  • [p]Fixed deconstruct disappearing for building with visual overrides[/p]
  • [p]Added logic to auto-deny unreachable items, buildings, or blueprints[/p]
  • [p]Fixed trader getting stuck in "returning to orbit" when a trade was cancelled before the landing approach started[/p]
  • [p]Reduced the time it takes for a trader to land from 5 min to 2 min 30 s[/p]
  • [p]Fixed "accept" button for trades not taking into account if the space port got deactivated (e.g. by a damaged landing zone)[/p]
  • [p]Trades now expire if they aren't yet accepted and a trader wouldn't have enough time left to arrive before the expiration time[/p]
  • [p]Added overtime functionality to trades that prolongs a trade by 120 s if it is accepted with less than 60 s available for departure[/p]
  • [p]Added an overlay to the currently selected world grid tile while the player is in the terraform order mode (similar to the mining drill area overlay)[/p]
  • [p]Fixed terrain resources not being updated from deserialized brick map data[/p]
  • [p]Fixed tooltip causing issues when loading a save from a game or returning to menu[/p]
  • [p]Fixed tooltips not displaying properly in certain cases and being stuck open in others[/p]
  • [p]Fixed tooltips getting stuck if they were pinned while being hidden[/p]
  • [p]Fixed pioneer inventory controller not properly clearing it's listeners when destroyed[/p]
  • [p]Fixed global stockpile amounts wrapping if they were large enough[/p]
  • [p]Patched issue where voxel override entity might not be connected to the original override entity on load[/p]
  • [p]Fixed issue where certain players were not able to click (Thanks Kideya, Tigwyk and Magitek)[/p]
  • [p]Fixed issue with input actions being triggered when they are even slightly actuated[/p]
  • [p]Added camera movement modifier on "shift"[/p]

  • [p]Separated roofs from floor recipes[/p]
  • [p]Fixed misaligned gangway t-junction[/p]
  • [p]Fixed color of Green Assembler (less metallic)[/p]

  • [p]Re-enabled Palisades with a new functional gate[/p]
  • [p]Added barbed wire gate[/p]

Dawn Apart 0.78.3.9 Hotfix Patch Notes

Hello Again Again Everyone!
[p][/p][p]We got a report that a save was crashing on load every time. This isn't great for a player but is the best case for us to fix things pretty quickly.[/p][p][/p][p]This is a good time to again say thank you everyone for making reports. It is absolutely massive in helping us to improve the game as fast as possible! It sends us your save so we can load it up in editor and find exactly where things are going wrong.[/p][p][/p][p]We appreciate you all for helping us out making this game the best it can be![/p][p][/p][h2]Fixes[/h2]

Dawn Apart 0.78.3.8 Hotfix Patch Notes

Hello Again Everyone!
[p][/p][p]Tony (Poots N Doots) Here,[/p][p]During our Witchcraft Wednesday stream I implemented a cool feature where voxel objects would restore their voxels when an agent repairs them. The most basic version of this is where they hit 100% health and they are fully restored. [/p][p][/p][p]In my hubris I claimed that this was less than a minute feature. It was one line to implement and after some testing it looked all good. Now, you are reading these patch notes so you already know where this is going. This turned out to be my Icarus moment. [/p][p][/p][p]If a prospector repairs certain buildings, like a furnace that is currently working, the cleanup entity which we spawn to clean the old voxel data was never destroyed. This isn't a big deal until the game is saved and loaded at which point that cleanup entity gets treated as a regular entity, which it very much is not.[/p][p][/p][p]Long story short: The Sun is hot and crashes are no good[/p][p][/p][h2]Fixes[/h2]
  • [p]Fixed error on building destruction if invalid item ids exist in storage (Thanks Dirt),[/p]
  • [p]Fixed chunked cleanup entities not properly being cleaned (Thanks Jets63)[/p]
