UM2 0.6.0 Deployed to TestMine

[p][/p][p][/p][p]Happy Friday Everyone!

We just deployed 0.6.0 to the TestMine branch. If you've never used TestMine before, it is a dedicated branch to test updates before they are officially released. This means there may be more bugs and the experience might be a bit more rough, but if you're eager to try the new content it is the place to be. [/p][p]This link will help you setup TestMine or, if you have difficulties, visit us in Discord and we can help you out. [/p][p]0.6.0 is not currently content complete. More will be added in the coming weeks. Here is what you will find:

- An incomplete set of familiars (more to come!)
- The Roost in the Hub and its unlock sequence

[/p][p][/p][hr][/hr][p][/p][p][/p][h2]What's coming up:[/h2][p][/p][h3]0.6.0[/h3][p]We're deep into the development of 0.6.0 which features Familiars! A highly requested feature from UnderMine 1. The plan was always to release these guys, but we needed some more time. [/p][p]Towards the launch of Early Access we realized we weren't going to have enough time to do familiars right. We wanted to make some improvements over UM1 and to make their abilities as interesting as possible.[/p][p]We'll provide more detail on their mechanics in the official update preview. Until then let's look at Courtland's sketches for their design.[/p][p][/p][p]Familiars will live in the Roost, a new room in the Hub. Here's a quick peak: [/p][p][/p][p]
In addition to the Roost and Familiars we're adding some new shops, an expansion to the Rabbit Hole, and a sprinkling of new items.

[/p][p][/p][p]0.6.0 will be added to the TestMine soon. We're really excited for this update, especially because we're testing some bold changes. [/p][p]Ever since UnderMIne 1 you've been able to walk straight into holes. We just made it so that pushing up against a hole will stop you. You can still jump or be knocked in, but this new functionality gives you a lot more confidence when walking around. We think it's a great change, but we're going to test it out and see what you think. [/p][p]If you're not a fan of it, there is still an option in the options menu to disable it and revert back to traditional UnderMine holes.   • [p]Noori now leaves temporary pools of water under his torches whenever he extinguishes them, preventing you from immediately relighting them[/p]
  • [p]Noori’s health pool has been increased by 20%[/p]
  • [p]Holes have been added to the edges of Noori’s arena[/p]
  • [p]Noori’s beam attacks during his ultimate now damage followers[/p]

Anvil
[p]Unity has now been updated to 6000.0.62f1. Unfortunately, this version of Unity contains a bug that causes core sprites to render incorrectly in the Data Browser and Remote Console. We are working with Unity to resolve this issue. Nonetheless, please update to this version before continuing to develop your mods.[/p]
  • [p]Mods can now provide their own SettingsData objects. These objects will automatically be rendered by clicking the new Options button next to any mod in the Options menu. It’s up to the mod to figure out how to use that setting, but users will be able to adjust those settings automatically.[/p]
  • [p]Anvil automatically upgrades your mod's version of Unity as part of the startup checks[/p]
  • [p]Anvil no longer overwrites your mod's description in the Steam workshop when publishing[/p]
  • [p]Using the "Test Mod" button now gives you the Journal and Glasses[/p]
