  • Rework of Siberian Pine to work everywhere

  • New biome: the Prehistoric Ice Age biome that can be placed by the Frost Giant in the Ice Age mode, coming with new Apex and Cohort biotica like the Permafrost and the Mammoth;



  • New mechanics and tags link to the theme of evolution and extinction to unlock and power up biotica through the Eras;
  • 4 new Leaders inspired by what the community suggested and some can have synergies with the new Cataclysm Update features;

  • 4 new Turning Points: some are centered around discovery but what will happen if the Nuclear Bomb is invented?

The full Patch Notes can be found at the end of this Steam News but here is a list of the Major additions coming with this Update:

  • Experience the godly powers with the new natural disaster abilities; from the Tsunami to the Wildfire, every element can turn into the most destructive weapon in the hands of the Giants!



  • Discover the new relationships that can be built between cities where their greatest creations can be traded peacefully through cultural exchanges… Or can attract jealousy and conflicts to steal these resources!

  • Giants are also part of the picture as humans can now build temples in their honor if the Giants are to their liking or, on the contrary, try to hunt them down if they are no longer fond of them;
  • For a more peaceful planet, you may choose the Pacifism mode at the beginning of your planet creation that will disable any military events from occurring or on the contrary, try out the Event Intensity mode to choose the pace of the relationship development and the trigger of in-game events;
  • The game now supports the Russian and Ukrainian languages;

[h3]Patch Notes v.1.5.0:[/h3]

NEW:
  • Cities now develop relationships with each other
    • Likes and dislikes are determined by a new trait system for leaders.
    • Leaders that like other leaders may do cultural exchanges
    • Leaders that hate other leaders may send out armies to go to war and won’t initiate new trades.
    • In case of war, the aggressor can steal resources from the defender, even to a net benefit for the planet. If you help the defender, they can gain Mystery for this.
  • Cities now develop relationships with the giants
    • Action and inaction towards cities impact their giant likes and dislikes.
    • Positive relationships grant boons
    • Negative relationships may lead to them sending out giant hunters
  • Each giant now has its own disaster ability that wreaks havoc on all humans and cities in an area.
    • Ocean Giant: Tsunami
    • Forest Giant: Tornado
    • Savannah Giant: Wildfire
    • Frost Giant: Blizzard
    • Swamp Giant: Bog
    • Rock Giant: Earthquake
  • Game-over is now possible. When one of your giants is killed, you withdraw from the planet.
  • Added planet start parameters:

    • Event Intensity: determines how fast relationships develop and events trigger.
    • Pacifism mode: disables any military events from occurring.
CHANGES:
  • Planets with planet-dooming endings may no longer be revisited.
  • Profile level can now increase beyond level 14 based on installed DLC.
  • Added ‘Load Most Recent’ button in escape menu. Clarified that ‘Quick Load’ always loads the save made with ‘Quick Save’.
BALANCE:
  • Diplomat Emblem no longer gives science.
  • Red-backed Vole and Caribou have new Symbioses to match the design better
  • Lion percentage cap removed, doubled the power
  • Shipwreck correctly has deep
  • Maple Tree gives correct value
  • Falcon scaler up from 0.25 to 0.35
  • Changed Platinum
  • Goose max food from 100 to 120, also gives +1 bio

Ice Age DLC Content and Winter sales

Hey Giants!

Our next Major Update bringing disasters abilites and relationships is not coming alone: do you wish for a new biome? More biotica? More leaders? More Eras? Here comes the Ice Age DLC!

Our goal has always been to make the game the most satisfying for all Reus 2 players, from the “casual once in a while” players to the “hardcore high scores and achievements seeker” ones. We have plenty of ideas for Reus 2, and we’ve listened to your ideas as well. Even if not all of these ideas can be brought to the game, we still want to make the most of it, and our best solution is through a paid DLC that will support future free updates.

This DLC aims to implement new content in the game on different levels, from the new biome to new leaders, era options, and biotica. All of these will support new strategies and stories for your planets. We just wanted to be as transparent as possible with you about this.

Before diving into the content of the DLC, know that the Winter sales on Steam begin today with a 33% discount on the main game and 10% on the Supporter Pack! Could be a great Christmas gift for your loved ones, right?


[h3]New biome, the Ice Age biome:[/h3]

Like the Taiga biome, it can be placed by the Frost Giant if you toggle it to the Ice Age mode instead of the Taiga mode at the start of your planet. This new biome also gives a whole new look to Aegir the Frost Giant!

A whole new biome also means a full new set of unique Apex and Cohort biotica, as well as gameplay mechanics. From animals to plants and minerals, you’ll discover a whole new bunch of biotica on the Ice Age theme like the Smilodon, Permafrost, Geyser, and the iconic Mammoth!



This new biome plays with themes of evolution and extinction, giving new tags like “extinct” to the biotica. These new evolution and extinction mechanics give you unique new ways to unlock and power up biotica through the eras.

[h3]4 New Leaders:[/h3]

Each leader brings a new perspective for your cities and are inspired by real-life personalities as well as archetypes the community suggested! You can guess who inspired who in the comments of this Steam News!
  • The General: he gets a bonus for the new military Power stat coming with the free Cataclysm Update
  • The Poet: a leader who improves projects
  • The Villain: this leader thrives with hate on the world
  • The Painter: she sees the world as her canvas and needs a colorful world to express herself (as well as gold)

  • Hunter Age: Winter is coming, will your planet survive it?
