Cataclysm and Relationships will arrive in Reus 2

Hey Giants!

We have already teased you that the next update will bring a new side to Reus 2. For the players who missed the chaos and excitement humanity can birth, this Update is for you! Let’s take a look at the new features the Cataclysm update will bring!
Humans and Giants relations:
Leaders will now develop relationships with each other and giants. These relationships can be positive or negative, and leaders will have preferences based on their personalities. The Goddess, for example, likes leaders with little wealth so she can stay the richest person around. Relationships with giants depend on how well you help them with their requests.
 • If a leader likes another leader, they might start a cultural exchange program, or a special invention. If they like a giant, they might built a little temple in their honor!
 • However, if leaders become enemies, they might start wars to steal each other’s resources. If they hate a giant, they might decide the giant is no longer welcome or try to hunt them down.

All interactions except hateful actions against the giants are a net positive for your planet: humanity also learns and develops through strife. You can control who will benefit, though!
Toy with forces of nature:
If the humans decide to cause chaos, you don’t have to stand by idly! Giants can retaliate or control the outcome of conflicts with their own Disaster Abilities! Each Giant has a disaster ability that targets a small area and hits cities and any envoys (armies, border expanders, trade missions) in the area.
 • Ocean Giant: Tsunami, which requires the City to be close to a 5 tiles range of an Ocean biome
 • Forest Giant: Tornado
 • Savannah Giant: Wildfire
 • Frost Giant: Blizzard
 • Swamp Giant: Bog
 • Rock Giant: Earthquake

To conclude on this future update, there are two main things to remember about this update: disasters are a tool you may or may not use and conflicts are optional. There will be relationships between cities and Giants however the game will never force you to wield the giants' disaster abilities or attack a group of pesky humans if you wish to have peaceful gameplay. The update is meant to bring more liveliness and personality to your planets, without distracting you from playing the game at your own pace. Enable it as you see fit!

Remember that we are also working on our first DLC that you can already wishlist here:

Hotfix v1.4.3
CHANGED:
- Era requirements are now always visible in collection UI, even for undiscovered eras.
- It's no longer possible to call nomads to patches that are scheduled for terraforming, to banish Atlantis back to the realm of myth. (Sorry, but it destabilized the game!)
FIXED:
- City of Dreams difficulty is now marked as Hard.
- Critter sanctuary is available from level 3 instead of 2 (fixed confusing text in era preview)
- Small World now counts critter tags that were added to existing biotica immediately. This fixes the Fruit Bat Micro interaction.
- Monument Age completion cinematic now still completes the pyramid when skipped.
- Fixed an issue where the pyramid would't retain its built up resources after becoming Legacy.
- Fixed an issue where completing the City of Dreams skyscraper could result in a frozen cinematic.
- Fixed an issue where apex biotica wouldn't immediately give their resources (i.e. spawn flying resource particles) when they are placed with little biodiversity to spare in some cases.
- Level 2 and level 3 biotica now show the right amount of biodiversity particles (2 and 3 respectively) when spawned.

Hotfix v1.4.2

FIXED:
- Base Eon Limit for City of Dreams increased to 85 (was 20)
- Base Eon Limit for Small World increased to 85 (was 60)
- Removed faulty duplicate nature facts for Sable and Amur Leopard
- Fixed occasional freeze in Damned Plague cutscene.
- Revolution and Damned Plague endings now still apply their persistent effects (f.e. leader replacement) when skipped.
It's a known issue that other turning points will not yet apply these effects when using the 'skip if seen' option. This will be addressed in future hotfixes.

Major Update: Amur Update

Hey Giants!

Here comes a new update with the additions of biotica like the Amur Leopard and Honeysuckle, as well as new Era options to explore with your humans! You can find the detailed Patch Notes as usual at the end of this Steam News.

The new biotica for this update are focusing on the Taiga with 3 new Apex biotica the Amur Leopard, Sable and Titanite as well as 3 new cohort biotica: Tungsten, Honeysuckle and Mandarin Duck!
New Eras:
