This month, a major update was released, changing the game to a tile-based format. You can find a more detailed summary
here.
In any case, here is a full list of the changes made:
- Steam achievements were added to the game. If you already meet the requirements, you can automatically receive the achievements by booting up the game.
- The game was changed to tile based.
- Both melee and ranged units have had their attack area downsized. Movement range has been given a slight increase in general to compensate for this, but I won’t pretend that it’s a one-to-one system.
- Performance has been improved on maps with a high number of units.
- The game should be more responsive in some places.
- The mouse camera pan is slightly less janky.
- The message box UI has been changed.
- Preparation screen UI has changed.
- Battle UI has changed.
- Various other UI elements have changed.
- Cutscenes now have a border to indicate a difference from overworld gameplay elements.
- Units and NPCs cast simple shadows now.
- Slight character art adjustments.
- Slight dialogue adjustments.
- There is now a small indicator for action command timing.
- The Bard class has been adjusted so that they need at least 5HP to use their ability. Using the assist will cause them to lost 5HP, so now it takes a bit more thinking to decide if you should use their assist every turn or not.
- The Tempest badge has been adjusted so that it will not trigger 100% of the time, so now you won’t be able to autopilot the endgame with it.
- Ending a unit's turn early now takes 2 right clicks instead of 1.
- The world map has been changed, with a red glow indicating more difficult areas.
- Misc bug fixes.
If you would like to keep playing on the older version of the game, you can do so using the beta branch "archived". However, after a certain point, save files made on the newer build will not be compatible with the older build.
That's all for now, Merry Christmas to all of you.
