Tap Ninja v4.0.2 is live!

● Research Tiers are now open at all times
● Elixir quest rewards are now added to the pre-Ascension counter
● Pet menu scaling improved for mobile devices
● The game will be paused while inside either of the Pet menus
● Pet Collection should now shine less if the pet is not able to be upgraded
● Medals used on Bond levels now won't deduct the maximum Medals that are seen on the Element of Fire (Medals used before this update were added to the maximum)
● Clicking on an Achievement toast while in Pet menus will now correctly open the Achievement

● The gold you earn from enemies and Fireflies has been fixed
● Bird Pet passive ability has been adjusted to the fixed Firefly value
● Unlocking enemies from Tiers now requires to either buy at least one upgrade in that Tier or complete the previous Tier
● The increase to Pet bond meter while offline is now accurate
● The "Through Thick and Thin" upgrade now gives the correctly increases the Pet bond counter
● Endgame buildings are slightly buffed
● Medal upgrade button now properly stops flashing if no upgrades are buyable
● Manually toggling Energy while "Firefly audio only" is enabled now won't play an SFX (automatic toggling will still play SFX)

Upcoming Pet update news & Beta test

The Pet update will be released in 14 to 18 day time from now.

The update is being tested in a public beta test, anyone that is playing on a Steam client can join. Read the instructions on how to join over here - https://steamcommunity.com/app/1891700/discussions/0/3316358999124492855/


First of all the Stars from Challenges will be swapped to Medals.

What are Pets?
At launch there is going to be 12 different pets, each with their own abilities, passive bonuses, a Star level and a Bond level.
While both Star and Bond levels increase the Pets passive bonus, the abilities will be unlocked once the Pet reaches a certain Star level.
There are three types of Pets – Critters, Beasts and Birds. Each type has a unique passive bonus.
You will be able to select one Pet at a time to follow you and help on your journey.
And yes - you can name your pets.

How to obtain Pets?
Pets will be obtainable though a new currency – Eggs.
Opening these Eggs will have a chance obtain a stronger or a weaker pet.
Obtaining a weaker pet will award you with another new currency - Critter Stars, Beast Stars and Bird Stars. The Star type that you earn will depend on the Pets type.

How to strengthen the Star level?
While obtaining a stronger pet though Eggs will automatically increase that Pets star level, you can also collect enough Stars of the appropriate type and upgrade the Star level for a pet of your own choosing.

How to strengthen the Bond level?
To increase the Bond level you have to keep the Pet by your side and bonding with it though your journeys, this will gradually fill up your pets bond meter and once it’s full you can spend Medals from Challenge levels to advance the pet to the next Bond level.

Swapping between pets is only doable once per day to avoid any unnecessary power gaming.

The beta focuses on pet functionality and testing if the abilities work correctly

Note that all of the pet Star costs and Bond level timers have been drastically reduced so that later Pet level abilities can be tested.

Suggestions for the Pet update

Greetings!

The pet update is coming along nicely and I expect it to be done sometime in the first part of October.

Here is some basics on how the pets will benefit you:
  • Each pet will have a different benefits - one could make the fireflies appear more often while another one would reduce the cost of buildings.
  • Pets will also have levels, these would either boost their primary benefit or unlock a new one.
  • You will be able to choose one to help and fight by your side

So now I want to hear your suggestions on what kind of Pets would you like to see and what would be their ability to focus on.

Here is an example
Snake - based around the Rope Hook
Lvl 1: Increases Rope Hooks length by x
Lvl 2: Decreases Rope Hooks cooldown by x
Lvl 3: Each Critical hit takes away 1 second from the current Rope Hooks cooldown
Lvl 4: Rope Hook can now penetrate one enemy
