October 18 Patch

Hey Vikings, we're dropping another patch for a weekend kickoff, here's what we've managed to get done this week besides all the new content that's still cooking.

  • Bloomery provides warmth while not fully burning; blazing Bloomery is warmer;
  • Exploration markers visibility status is now saved;
  • Crop field cells now better indicate if they contain enough water;
  • Players now leave a marker where they died;
  • Character's remains now also indicate the cause of death when you interact with it, and also the name of the character that died there;
  • Added exploration marker to Winter Invasion portal;
  • Added map filter for character's remains;
  • Added a proper complain message when the mine is exhausted;
  • Fixed miners getting stuck in a fully exploited mine;
  • Fixed some glitchy behavior when exiting ladders;
  • Fixed regression with NPCs not properly adjusting their Y position accurately to match terrain height and swimming incorrectly.


A nice mix of QoL and fixes to make ASKA just a little bit better. Have a wonderful weekend!

One final patch before the weekend

Because we literally cannot help ourselves, more stuff:

October 16th Hotfix

Hey Vikings!

We've just deployed a hotfix based upon some feedback you've given.
Hope you're all enjoying the new update!

  • Fixed Structure assigned Villagers count UI
  • Fixed dropdown select navigation for gamepad when there is only one option
  • Added a button to open the Villager menu at the schedule page
  • Fixed a bug causing the gamepad highlight to not work when you open a menu for the first time
  • Fixed Watchtower Villagers getting stuck when their Watchtower was upgraded
  • Fixed visual issues with Villagers climbing ladders
  • Adjusted the Villager menu UI a bit
  • Updated localisation

Update #2 hotfix

  • Fixed breakage in Villager status effects. Larger populations saw issues when working with the new Settlement Menu. This is now fixed, and your Villagers once again do their best to stay alive by eating and drinking etc
  • Client side fix for Farming Menu

October Patch: Farmers & Fighters Update

Hey Vikings, we’re thrilled to announce that our second major update, Farmers and Fighters is now LIVE!
We’re so excited to see how you enjoy this one. Thank you so much for all your ongoing support & patience while we worked on delivering it!



MILITIA? I HARDLY KNEW HER
  • Villagers can now be assigned to a village Militia. Militia are regular villagers who jump to the village's defense when it comes under attack
  • They also answer rallying calls from the newly added Horn
  • Horns are a new special tool which allows players to raise the alarm in a specific area, and to rally Militia to a specific point. With the horn, your village will never sleep through an attack again
  • Horns are made from Smolkr horns. We've added a new hornless Smolkr, so make sure you hunt those with horns!
  • Towers can also be upgraded with horns, allowing you to set up automated alarm towers.



CROPS CROPS CROPS CROPS CROP CROPS - EVERYBODY!


  • Players can now set up automated crop rotation schedules at the crop fields;
  • Farmers will automatically reseed plants according to the schedule;
  • And a small fix, closing the crop menu that was opened from the farm menu, will no longer close the farm menu too.
  • New deeds and rewards




TRIBE LEADERS NEVER LOOKED THIS GOOD

  • We've added a host of new customization options for Aska and Ragnar, but there's a catch
  • We've upgraded the Deeds system by adding in a meta-progression system. The new customization options will be unlockable by completing deeds for the various gods
  • All gods received all-new god deeds and new tiers. This is the first step in deepening the game's progression as we're setting the stage for new vanity items to better showcase your in-game accomplishments.




CAVES, CRAWLERS AND CAVE FINGERS OH MY!

  • The caves have also received an upgrade, as they now feature new iron deposits, special stones where you can place torches and an improved crawler encounter. Caves can now be cleared of baddies for good by eliminating the dens
  • Villagers working in the mine will now light the cave using the new wall torch mechanic. Miners no longer need torches in hand
  • Also reworked how Cave Fingers are gathered.


IN THE CLOUDS


  • Steam Cloud Saving has been added
  • You can now save your progress remotely using Steam Cloud saves and continue playing on any machine, anywhere!


STUFF THAT I COULDN’T THINK OF A TITLE FOR THAT HAS ALSO BEEN ADDED

  • Settlement issue menu has been improved thanks to community feedback;
  • Villager schedule can now be changed using a dropdown;
  • Workers are more eager to drop their junk and recyclable iron parts.




FIXIN THOSE BUGS

  • Fixed farmers AI getting stuck due to various reasons;
  • Fixed farmers AI complaining about not finding seeds without any reason;
  • Fix farmers not complaining about storage is full in some cases;
  • Fix farmers complaining about storage is full when not needed;
  • Fixed password field being show when creating a normal singleplayer world;
  • Fixed fishermen dropping their bait near the bait barrel;
  • Fixed huge frame drop when depositing many items to storage;
  • Fixed for season music in games with custom season length;
  • Fix gatherers stuck complaining;
  • Small navigation events fixes when using the gamepad;
  • Improved gamepad navigation in deeds page;Fixed the villager left notification not showing up for clients in some cases;
  • Fix archery range having 0 defence points when used as a patrol point if no archers are assigned to it
