Hello, everyone!
[p][/p][p]Welcome to our first devlog of 2026![/p][p][/p][p]Typically, I'd start with a recap of what's been happening in the gaming world but we've been so busy that I couldn't tell you haha. Which means we got a bunch to update you on today so let's delve right in![/p][p][/p]
An Update on the Exploration
[p][/p][p]If you've followed us for a while, you might know about the exploration aspect of Light Odyssey. Though, in that case, you likely also know that not much of this has been revealed yet.[/p][p][/p][p]Luckily, over the past months, we've been hard at work on the exploration aspect so we've got some teasers for you! (And please, don't hesitate to share your feedback on them!)[/p][p]

[/p][p][/p][p]You might recognize one of these areas from the public demo which is because we've also gone back and reworked some existing ones. During this, our main goal was to diversify the look and feel of each area so that exploration felt exciting and the world of LIght Odyssey gained more depth.[/p][p][/p][p]

[/p][p][/p][p]To ensure the full game surprises you as much as possible, we're still keeping a lot of this a secret for now... We want the world to be yours to explore and not ruin the magic of discovery. However, to pique your interest, here's a teaser of a biome we haven't shared anything about so far:[/p][p][/p][p]

An Update on the Colossi
[p][/p][p]Now, a Light Odyssey devlog wouldn't be the same without an update on our Colossi. Specifically, my personal favorite Colossus is nearly finished and has become a fight like no other in Light Odyssey![/p][p][/p][p]

[/p][p][/p][p]Because we want to imbue each Colossus with their own quirks and mechanics, we've been experimenting with completely new ones to ensure each fight is something you look forward to.[/p][p][/p]
Dithering
[p][/p][p]Additionally, we've heard your feedback that it can be difficult sometimes to see things when you're behind the Colossi. As a result, we've enhanced our outline shader with a dithering feature:[/p][p][/p][p]

[/p][p][/p][p]We hope this makes the experience of Light Odyssey more enjoyable and lets you avoid attacks that would've otherwise been obscured. Please let us know what you think once you get to try it![/p][p][/p]
Updates Beyond Development
[p][/p][p]Beyond development, we've also been on a bunch of side-quests. For starters, we started posting on
YouTube and
TikTok so come follow us there if you'd like![/p][p][/p][p]On top of this, we've done an interview with
INDIEGAMES/WTF. If you're curious about our development journey and life as an indie studio, check it out! 😊[/p][p][/p][p]And lastly, we're attending some events again like Tokyo Game Dungeon. Massive thank you to everyone who met us there and tried Light Odyssey! Tomorrow, we're exhibiting at PAX East so come say hi if you're in the area![/p][p][/p][p]

[/p]
What's Next?
[p][/p][p]That's a very good question. We've got an exciting roadmap for this year and can't wait to release Light Odyssey. However, we must ask for your patience for a little longer while we set it all up. 😇[/p][p][/p][p]For now, expect another devlog in a month or 2. We deliberately are taking some extra time between devlogs so we get to bring you more packed progress updates. But hey, if there's something you'd like to see from us in the meantime, please let us know! (I read all of the comments)[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you for all your support![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]
