Major Update 2: The Overworld, is now available!

HELLO, HITCHHIKER
Major Update 2: The Overworld, is now live!
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
This update brings a lot of community requested features and changes, a new location, two new enemies, a new boss fight, brand new mid-run upgrades and more. Let’s get into it.
New Location: Ewer Fortress
A new location in the Hyperworld, the Ewer Fortress is a maze of stone and circuitry, filled with abstract geometry and expansive rooms. Players will frequently have to put their traversal abilities to use in order to get around.
New Boss: Steward One
The final boss and supreme authority of the Overworld, Steward One will make sure your run ends with her. With multiple phases and nasty projectile attacks players will have to use traversal abilities to avoid, Steward One stands as the last obstacle between you and the Overworld Harmonizer.
New Enemy: Ewer Quadra
The first of the new enemies arriving in Major Update 2, The Ewer Quadra is an extremely high-threat unit that fills an unoccupied niche in our current spread of enemies.

Capable of attacking the player from anywhere on-screen, the Quadra makes every single encounter they show up in about them, pestering the player at range with fast shurikens that phase through walls. When the player gets close, it will leap backwards out of melee range and throw its arm assemblies like massive boomerangs to try to keep the player at bay.

Once players have the Quadra all alone, they can (literally) disarm it by shooting its arm assemblies while they're in flight. Once disarmed, the Quadra will be totally defenseless, and will be forced to run from the player, offering a little bit of catharsis after being such a nuisance.
New Enemy: Ewer Arrestor
The second new enemy in Major Update 2, the Arrestor is a new unit found in the Ewer City.

Equipped with a short-range explosive attack and a grappling hook, It will appear as a support unit in most encounters, as well as in locations where it might pull inattentive players off of platforms and into pits.
Hub Changes
Based on community feedback, players no longer have to run from person to person or walk all the way to the portal to start a new run. You can now simply teleport to wherever you want to go with a handy radial menu.
A new vendor, and a whole new set of upgrades
The Citadel has a new vendor to speak with, offering all-new sets of upgrades and perks to assist you mid-run. Things like:
 • Unlocking a Weapon Station that appears before boss encounters where you can upgrade your current weapons.
 • The ability to recycle unwanted weapons and items for money mid-run.
 • Powerful offensive upgrades for the Teleport Drone.
 • Find weapons with a guaranteed number of Perks after a certain power level.
Steam Achievements
A frequent request, Major Update 2 comes with 45 Steam Achievements to… well… achieve. Collect them all!
Misc. Changes
• New Amps, Powerups and Psychic Augments
 • Grapple point visuals now change slightly when they are in-range of the player and grappleable.
 • Forge has seen a bit of a redesign. It’s now a little bigger, and laid out so that players will need to explore more of the level before finding an exit.
 • Changes have been made to hitpause and screenshake to make every attack feel more impactful.
 • Added slowmo when staggering Elite or Tank units.
 • New platforming challenges have been added to the In-Between that are specific to Kera and Naira.
 • Spectral Swords: A new ability for Altara that surrounds her with several floating blades that slice enemies she passes through.
 • Countless other minor fixes

A Sneak Peek at Major Update 2!

Hello, Hitchhiker.

We've had our heads down for a little while now while working on Major Update 2, and while we aren't ready to show off the update in full yet, we wanted to give you all a peek at some of the new stuff that's on the way, starting with one of the new enemies arriving in the next update.

This'll be a quick one, we just wanted to break the silence and show off some cool stuff for a bit before getting back to work.

New Location: Fortress
A new location in the Hyperworld, Fortress is a maze of stone and circuitry, filled with abstract geometry and expansive rooms. Players will frequently have to put their traversal abilities to use in order to get around.
More announcements incoming
Major Update 2 will arrive later this summer, with a new game mode, new abilities for Altara and Naira, new enemies and more. We still have plenty more to announce and show off to you all, but there's quite a bit of polishing that needs to be done first. We hope you understand.

In the meantime, join our Discord to chat with the community and devs! We'll be running a private beta on our Discord server soon for players interested in trying out some of the new content early, including an early version of the Overworld's final boss.
