Free DLC #1: Mutagenesis, is now available!

Hello, Hitchhiker.

Introducing the first FREE DLC for Trinity Fusion: Mutagenesis.

This is just the first of multiple free expansions that we will be adding to Trinity Fusion over the coming months. So, without further ado, the trailer:

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
New Location: The Hive
Hidden away deep in the bowels of the Underworld is The Hive, a new biome that expands the number of Underworld locations from 3 to 4.

Down here, a disgusting, fleshy substance has grown over the walls and floors; almost as if a set of living guts are taking shape along the walls of the caverns. The level is filled with large chambers lined with pools of acid, connected by claustrophobic corridors with little room to maneuver.

It’s a longer and more challenging level than any of the others within the Underworld, with harsher fights and some optional tricky platforming areas.
New Enemies
Speaking of harsher fights, the Mutagenesis DLC comes with a handful of dangerous new enemies. Not only will you encounter new Elite versions of older enemies with their own new twists, two entirely new enemies are being added as well.
The Judge
You might remember them from the story! The judge tries to keep their distance, teleporting away from the player and firing small projectiles that spread out into a wall of small projectiles over time.
The Preeminence
Another nasty projectile user with a teleport, except this one will teleport TO you, chasing the player down once they have eyes on Maya.

The Preeminence will not only appear in the Hive, but will also show up as a rare enemy in the Ewer City.
Wrapping up
There are a handful of smaller changes under the hood, but this update is mostly about that SWEET NEW CONTENT.

We have even more levels, enemies and secrets still in the works. Let us know what you think of the Mutagenesis update on our socials and our Discord, and we'll see you out there in the multiverse!

Trinity Fusion is now Verified on Steam Deck!

Hello, Hitchhiker.

We know just how well roguelikes work on mobile platforms. Being able to start, pause or resume up a run whenever and wherever you get the itch to go again just fits the genre perfectly. When the Deck was announced, we knew that we had to make sure those players were treated like first-class citizens.

Now, all that effort has paid off, and Trinity Fusion is fully Verified on the Steam Deck!

We've added a few tweaks to the game over the last two weeks to make the experience even better. Players can now combine different input methods and controllers, using both simultaneously. You can seamlessly go from playing on the Deck's built-in controls, dock it to your TV and grab your controller (or keyboard) of choice without any fiddling with controller assignments.

We hope you all enjoy the recent updates, and we'll see you out there in the Multiverse!

Trinity Fusion's 1.2 update is now live!

Hello, Hitchhiker.

A small update for you all this time, focused on some minor bugs and improvements to Steam Deck compatibility.
Text Scaling
There is now a new Text Scaling option in the Gameplay section of the Settings menu! Turning this on will increase the size of most text elements in the game, making them easier to read on portable systems like the Steam Deck.
Bugfixes
• Fixed a rare bug with enemy scaling causing enemies (usually in Forge) to be stronger and with more health than they should have been.
 • Fixed a handful of dialogues that were playing either more than once or in odd conditions.

We're still hard at work on some new content, so keep an eye on our social media accounts and our Discord server for news!

Update 1.1 - Parries and more

Hello, hitchhiker.

It's been just over a month since Trinity Fusion's 1.0 release on Steam, and we're back at work after the holiday break plugging away at new content, as well as working through your feedback and bug reports.

Today's update is the first in a series of updates we'll be making while we work on the game's first proper content expansion. But we'll get to that later. For now, PARRIES.

A common request throughout the game's development was to add some defensive abilities. So, since we're not a fan of the player running around with a shield, we're adding a Parry system to the game, allowing players to deflect or reflect incoming attacks, provided that their timing is on-point.
The full patch notes

Parry System
The Parry is now available as an equippable Psychic Augment. A skill-based defensive option, parries can reflect projectiles back at the enemy that casted them and send melee enemies reeling, instantly putting them into a stun state.

When equipped, just tap the 'Interact' button the moment before an attack hits you to parry it. Successful parries can be instantly canceled out of, including into more parries! Try it out on rapid projectile attacks like Steward One's metal plates. Just don't miss the timng :)
Spectral Scanner
Another new Augment, the Spectral Scanner can be used to scan for and highlight nearby secret areas at a small energy cost.
Bug Fixes:
• The achievement “Amplifier Overload” now correctly unlocks after equipping 5 powerups, matching the description. Previously it required 6.
 • It’s no longer possible to get save files softlocked by quitting the game during the “confrontation” cutscene.
Amps
• Stun Spreader - Now stuns enemies instead of staggers them.
 • Guard Breaker - Now inflicts guaranteed crits on stunned enemies.
Wrapping up
That's the 1.1 update! Thank you so much for playing our game and all the positive feedback you've been sending our way. As always, let us know what you think of the update on the Steam Forums and on our Discord.

Have fun, and we'll see you out there in the multiverse!

Year-end patch notes!

Hello, Hitchhiker.

We're back from our holiday break and are hard at work on updates! We hope you enjoyed the Santa hats everyone was wearing in the Citadel, but we've been told that it's probably best to put the decorations away sooner rather than later.

Anyway, on to the patch notes!
Major Bugfixes
• Fixed the unlock conditions for Endless Mode. To access it, players will need to defeat the final boss on Veteran or Hardcore difficulty.
 • Fixed a bug where players could get softlocked and unable to attack after equipping a large number of weapons and items, usually during longer runs.
 • Fixed issues with collapsing platforms in the in-between that allowed players to phase through certain walls.
Minor Bugfixes
• Fixed a bug which could cause Relan to never return to his station on the top floor of the Citadel
 • Fixed a similar issue causing a clone of Issac to randomly hang around the Recall Pods.
 • Fixed an issue where Claw 17 could not be rescued due to the Director being unavailable.
Amps and Synergies
• Critical Vampire now has a cooldown of 20 seconds after activating.
 • The “Rich Get Richer” synergy has been modified to cap out at a 30% bonus to coins earned. It was previously uncapped which led to ludicrous gains in Endless Mode.
 • Adjusted the UI when talking to Nalimyet to only display Amps and Synergies currently in the game. More are coming, but we get how that was confusing.
Other gameplay stuff
• Endless Mode has seen a handful of tweaks to the enemy scaling. Longer runs should now feel much more challenging than they did before.
 • Improved the traversability of the Amalgam to prevent players from getting stuck.
 • Improved the traversability of the Fortress to prevent players from getting stuck.
 • Changed the "hidden map" curse to only hide the minimap. The pause screen map is now unaffected.

And that's it for this one! We hope you're enjoying the game. If you are, please leave us a review! It helps out more than you might think.

Have fun, and we'll see you out there in the Multiverse.
