Nightingale Unplugged | Offline Mode Debut
Nightingale Unplugged | Offline Mode Debut
We're thrilled to announce a major milestone in Nightingale’s Early Access journey: tomorrow we are debuting our highly-requested Offline Mode! This marks a significant addition in providing you, our dedicated players, with even more flexibility in how you enjoy your gaming experience.

First, here’s a note from Inflexion Games’ CEO, Aaryn Flynn.

We’ve covered a good amount of these details in our latest Developer Update video, but in case you missed it, or simply prefer it in writing, here’s everything you need to know.
Embrace the Freedom: Play Anytime, Anywhere‍
With the introduction of Offline Mode, you're no longer tethered to an internet connection. Whether you're in a remote abode or simply facing spotty Wi-Fi, fear not! Nightingale's Offline Mode allows you to immerse yourself in the Faewilds without worrying about unreliable ISPs.

Concerned about our servers being taken out by localized sun flares? Well, worry about the scientific intricacies of that later as you’ll be able to keep on exploring the Realms in the meantime. Need to pause for a moment to tend to real-life matters? No problem! Pause at your leisure and return whenever you're ready to continue your adventure.
The Starting Line: What to Expect‍
Our goal is to have as much parity between the online mode and the offline version of Nightingale. While we regard this as a “Version 1” of Offline Mode, all of the base game content, including new content arriving with 0.3, will be available in this mode.

To experience Offline Mode, create a new character and jump into the Realms. If this isn’t your first Realm dive, you even have the option to skip the tutorial so you can jump right into your Abeyance!

You’ll be able to experience the Realms, play minor Cards, visit the Watch, take on Vaults, hunt Apex creatures and so much more!

While Offline Mode brings more freedom for players, it's important to understand its limitations. Firstly, multiplayer functionality will not be available in this mode. With this mode being exclusively available in single-player, some content, such as Vaults, has been balanced for solo play. Additionally, certain features that rely on connecting to a player account such as rewards (including Twitch Drops), won't be accessible for offline players.

The team has put in tremendous effort to decouple the server load onto your local PC, but this does mean your PC will need to work a little harder in Offline Mode. Work is being done for further performance optimization, but in the meantime, you may need to reduce a couple of settings down a level for similar game performance as the online mode. With that said, we don’t foresee major changes to our technical requirements or minimum specs at this time.
A Word on Modding
We understand that many of you are passionate about modding and customizing your gaming experiences! While we understand the value that mods bring to games, we won't officially support modding at this time. After we fully understand how Offline Mode is performing in its current iteration, we’ll evaluate how we can support mods in a more official capacity.

As we’re unable to verify the safety of external mods, we won’t be endorsing mods on our official platforms such as Discord for now. But if you choose to mod your Offline Mode characters, we kindly ask that you disclose this when sharing your experiences online.
Conclusion: The Dawn of a New Era
We want to stress that this is just the beginning of our journey with Offline Mode. As such, we will be continuously refining and improving the experience based on your feedback.

While we acknowledge that there's still work to be done and improvements to be made, we're excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. We’re already working on the ability to transfer existing characters from online mode to Offline Mode, Steam Deck compatibility, and Cloud Save capability as well as improving performance - and we look forward to hearing from you regarding additional features you’d like to see!

Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm. Your feedback is invaluable as we strive to make Nightingale the best it can be. So, go forth, brave Realmwalkers, and enjoy the wonders of the Offline Mode!

Community Event | A Spark of Hope

Realmwalkers,

In the wake of the devastating Pale engulfing the Earth which caused humanity to find refuge in the mystical Realms, a glimmer of hope has emerged.

As humans flooded into the Realms, leaving behind the shadows of their past, newfound optimism for their future in the Faewilds began to grow. Previously quite rare, Hope manifested in quantities never before seen, affecting the Realms' denizens in mysterious ways. The Fae Wisps, ever curious and eager to absorb such potent fervor, danced amidst the burgeoning Hope, absorbing tiny sparks of it. Over time, these sparks coalesced and crystallized into a new type of Fae Essence, shimmering with the promise of possibility and renewal.

Dubbed "Hopeful Essence," this newfound resource quickly captured the attention of denizens across the Realms. Essence traders, always on the lookout for the latest trends and rarest finds, are scrambling to acquire this precious commodity, eager to capitalize on its potential.

Here's a glimpse into the unique wares offered by these enterprising Abeyance Realm traders:

 • Stave Table (Estate Decoration)
 • Carved Stave Chair (Estate Decoration)
 • Stave Brazier (Estate Decoration)
 • Dual Drinking Horns (Estate Decoration)
 • Skull Stand (Estate Decoration)
 • Creature Trophy (Estate Decoration)
 • Sentinel’s Set (Clothing)
 • Hunter’s Hat (Clothing)
 • Scarves (Clothing)
 • Black Pudding (Food)

This surge of human optimism will not last for long. The event starts once Update 0.3 goes live on Wednesday, 22 May, so ensure you acquire the goods of your choosing before the next major Realm update (0.4).

As Early Access continues we’ve updated our Development Priorities with some key areas of focus over the next few months.

We continue to welcome feedback as we continue to improve and expand Nightingale during Early Access. Jump into our Discord or head to our feedback board and let us know about your time in the Faewilds.

0.2.1 Changelog

Realmwalkers,

Our server maintenance has concluded and our servers are now back online!

Please update your game to access the Realms once again. It's recommended to restart Steam/Epic or verify your game files to make sure you're on the latest version. The game version will also now appear in the main menu when you start the game.
