Developing the Weeping Meadows
The Weeping Meadows
This area will probably look familiar to you if you've watched our latest trailers. But it wasn't always like this!

It started as this concept sketch, which ended up being very different to the in-game level.

We blocked out the level very roughly to start with as we worked on the level design.

Then, as we were still figuring it out, we used some marketplace assets to populate the level & start to bring it together.

Once we had a decent idea of the level design, we started creating our own unique assets to replace the placeholders we were using.

Then we had another art pass over the level to work on anything we felt needed improving, & a few different lighting passes to determine what we wanted the atmosphere to look like.

How Sorrow's Canyon Developed Over Time
The Hydraulic Wall
For those of you that took part in our recent demo or that have watched our trailers this location will be familiar. But it didn't always look like this...

Way back when we first started development on Luna Abyss, way back in 2019, this area started out as just a concept sketch.

Then as we started building out the levels it got a very basic starting structure.

That we built on.

And built on.

Until we get to the version that you see today. Personally, I think our art team did a fantastic job. What do you think?

Location Showcase: The Drift Mines

The deep, dark Drift Mines sit on the very edge of the known Abyss.

Once an active mine that gathered the crystallised form of Drift, the mine has become home to the most undesirable and dangerous of the Adrift.

Twins Wardens remain motionless on their mine rails, and strange halls house shrines for long forgotten gods.
