Bug Fixes, Curses List Mid-Run, UI Tweaks + More

Hello Card Gamers,

We just released a small update with a bunch of fixes and tweaks. Check them out below:

  • Curses are now viewable during a run by hovering over the curses icon in the status bar
  • Added a Credits section to the main menu
  • Fixed a bug where buying potions would cause the potion to get stuck slightly transparent and not move
  • Fixed various bugs that would cause cards to be the wrong size (too small or too big for the slot)
  • Improved the visual effect of an augment activating
  • Fixed some card play animations and sound effect timings
  • Fixed a bug where some hero power potions could be used on deck cards when they shouldn't have been able to
  • Fixed a bug with tooltips

Early Access status update

We are close to leaving Early Access for Card Craft and wanted to share an update regarding the expected features in the full release.

The full launch will come with an additional set of content updates, such as new heroes, relics, soundtracks, and enemies! Multiplayer, puzzle mode, and dungeon mode have been put on hold for the time being and will be revisited after the initial launch.

Thanks everyone for your support in helping us make Card Craft the game it is today, we are very excited to launch! Expect a launch date to be announced soon.

  • Steam achievements for beating the game with various levels of curse.
  • Achievement for beating the game with no perks.
  • Achievement for beating the game with 5 different heroes.


[h3]QUALITY OF LIFE[/h3]
  • Added tab to show all relics you've encountered.
  • Added an animation for when a card attacks in place.
  • Revert to an unlocked hero if you leave the Hero Tab while selecting a locked hero.
  • We are now keeping track of the highest curse level you've beaten the game with for each hero.

  • Changed Magus Ring and similar relics to only target random cards that actually have a symbol, and made it a Boss Relic.
  • Changed wording of Steel Cyclone to better match behavior.
  • Removed Royal Light entirely.
  • Removed condition from Power Tome.


[h3]BUG FIXES[/h3]
  • Enemy Augments that involve swapping now work.
  • Pushing a card onto a tile with an effect now triggers that effect.
  • Fixed bug where if you select a hero power while it is animating, it couldn't be used.
  • Changed Magus Ring and similar relics to only target random cards that actually have a symbol.
  • Band-aide fix for bug with card resizing.

Curses Update

We're happy to share the new Curse system for Card Craft. Added difficulty after beating a roguelike is the gold standard and we've had it on the road map for quite a while, but now it's finally here! Now, we're not huge fans of linear such "ascension" systems (i.e. a fixed order of modifiers that has no flexibility and must be beaten one at a time), so we opted for a more customizable system where you can pick and choose what curses you want to challenge yourself with (much like the "heat" system in Hades). You can even crank it all the way up right off the bat if you want.

With this update Card Craft is getting close to being feature complete for a 1.0 launch. We expect launch to be after the holidays though, so as to give ourselves a bit of a break, have enough time for proper marketing efforts, and make sure the game is properly polished.

Again as a reminder, we intend our 1.0 launch to coincide with a price increase, so remind your friends to pick it up before then!

Here's a detailed breakdown of everything in update v0.7.0:

  • Changed default heroes (swapped Deiryu Ren with Hikal Barka).
  • Reword hero power relic trigger to reflect behavior better.
  • Prevent perks from being changed mid-run.
  • Replaced the wiggling ring in the tutorial.
  • Minor visual change to Augment menu.


[h3]BUG FIXES[/h3]
  • Fixed appearance of starting shops after visiting them.
  • Fixed bug with potion drawer not automatically opening in the potion shop in certain situations.
  • Fix to hero power description getting cut off sometimes.
  • Various fixes around tutorial and practice mode contributing to run stats.
  • Removed delay before going back to main menu.
