Card Craft has 27 Steam achievements now! More to come in future updates.

[h3]BALANCE CHANGES[/h3]
  • Reduced the overall randomness in relics effects.
  • Redesigned several Hero Powers to have no randomness. Most notably the two of the starter heroes had powers that randomly applied neutral/negative effects of positive effect to every number and this was not a satisfying player experience.
  • After beating the first boss you get a relic immediately and get relics normally for the rest of the run.


[h3]QUALITY OF LIFE[/h3]
  • Augment menu in the start screen where you can change or undo augments.
  • The tutorial now waits for actions to finish before advancing.
  • Tooltips for tile cards.
  • Added graphic to wall tiles.
  • Hero powers don’t cost you a charge if they wouldn’t do anything.
  • Cards you can’t buy are grayed out.
  • Automatically take players to the perk menu after their first run.



[h3]BUG FIXES[/h3]
  • Various tooltips used to remain sometimes after the end of a match.
  • Brew Potion never used to grant potions with symbols. Plus the wording for this hero power was improved.
  • Potion relic triggers weren’t working for hero power potions.
  • Walls were counting as enemy cards for certain relic conditions.
  • Various small fixes.

This patch fixes a problem with navigation on the map for players that have not unlocked relics.

  • Potions now appear in a draw next to the player's deck instead of in the top bar.
  • Game over stats histogram updated to account for walls and in general be more flexible.
  • Improved the sequence of events that occur after defeating a boss.
  • Card hover effect.
  • Experience doesn't show for opponent's cards.
  • Experience for starting Epic cards sped up only for that hero.
  • Hide the player relic bar when empty.
  • More button-like feedback in quest buttons.
  • Don't show food particles from a chest if you're already at max supply.
  • Move campaign button to top of start menu after tutorial is finished.
  • Other minor timing improvements.

  • Sorcerer's Fire no longer fails if all card values are 0.
  • Fixed the images for hero power potions.
  • Fixed several related bugs caused by non-standard attacks and combos.

New Card Experience System & Price Increase

We would like to present a brand new feature we're excited about. Cards now gain experience from being used in a match (getting played, capturing, comboing, and blocking), and once they gain enough you'll be able to select a permanent augmentation. Augmentations give your cards special abilities that act similar to relics, but in a single direction. For example, the Spear Thrust augmentation enables that card to additionally attack a distance of 2 away in the augmentation's direction.

In light of our efforts with previous updates and this new feature, we've decided to increase the price to $8.99 and plan to increase again for the 1.0 release.

BALANCE CHANGES
  • Non-boss enemy powers! Enemies in worlds 1 and 2 now have powers much like bosses, but weaker.
  • Increased base difficulty to account for perks (lose 15 supply by default, above enemy powers, and other tweaks).
  • More bonus shards for beating the final boss.


JUICE and UI
  • Player map token, better indication of next and reachable nodes.
  • Changes to the title page UI, and call outs to access the Hero and Perks tabs.
  • Extra dialog box to check if you want to abandon a run.
  • Stay on the previously selected hero after abandoning or completing a run.


MISC
  • Added fullscreen and board opacity toggles to settings.
  • Better wording in quest options.
  • Brew Potion hero power now does what it says.
  • Various other small bug fixes.
