Dear, Survivors!

Tomorrow is the day! Bootstrap Island Early Access Launch! There will be a 20% Launch Discount for a limited time.

Our small team has worked for years to make a VR game which would feel so immersive that it`s graphics, systems, gameplay and narrative would blend together to create something that completely transports you into another world and lets you experience an adventure which isn’t possible in any other medium.

The road has been difficult but we are still committed to our ambitious vision. Early Access lets the players’ voice direct the core gameplay to simply make a better VR game.

Thank you, survivors, for all your support and feedback up to this time. The work is not done - it will continue throughout Early Access!

We are excited to announce that Bootstrap Island`s Gameplay Reveal will take place on February 20, at 5pm PST!

The developers will present new features, areas, resources and creatures of the Early Access game. Spoiler alert! :)

[h3]Some of the key features of the game:[/h3]

1. A ruthless roguelike experience with short intense sessions.
No hand-holding, no tutorials, survive as best you can. Different strategies work, find out what tactics is best for you;

2. Progression system.
Surviving longer unlocks new resources and improves further chances;

3. Randomized resources and consequence-based outcomes to your decisions.
Every session is different, you never know what you will find and where;

4. Dynamic open world game featuring realistic, simulated physics and systems-based gameplay.
Experiment with diverse solutions as in the real world (day and night, fire, liquid, etc., all with a direct impact on gameplay);

5. A captivating narrative, set in a 17th century storybook atmosphere.
The story changes according to the player`s progress and decisions. Every player will have unique experience and story;

6. Its only PC VR – to maximize the immersive experience in VR.
Not a port of a console or a standalone game.

"Hunting for animals here can be challenging, but the satisfaction of a successful hunt is unparalleled. Today, I tried something new - I tasted bat meat for the first time. The flavor was surprisingly rich and gamey, satisfying a longing I didn't know I had."

"Until recently I used a coconut to haul around bullets and powder. Finding a holster for my gun and a box for bullets speeds up the loading dramatically. For the first time in a while I feel powerful."

[h3]Hungry for Crab: Exquisitely tasty...when grilled to perfection...[/h3]
"The crabs are hard to seize, but I have found various ways for catching them - sharp sticks, guns, rocks. Alas, the crabs are worthless without cooking and I must also take care not to burn them. Nothing comes easy on this island."

[h3]Crack the Coconut: hit, smash & shoot! [/h3]
"I've gotten good at opening coconuts. At first, I used a stone, but it took a while. It's quicker to seize the coconut with both hands and smack it against rocks. But the fastest way is to throw the nuts swiftly at the rocks, which also spares my hands a couple of bruises. I could also shoot the coconut with a pistol, but dare not squander a bullet on that."

[h3]A Defensive Circle of Fire: Would flames keep the beasts at bay?[/h3]
"By now I know that the beasts hold fear for fire. I wondered whether a grand circle of flames around me would keep the beasts at bay. But there is always a chance that something will attack from the sky... what ought I do then?"

[h3]Clinging to Life: Either I hold on or meet my demise...[/h3]
"So I've been pondering...the hounds prove to be terrible at scaling rocks and even more so with ropes or vines. What if I spent the whole night on a rope grasping a flame in the other hand? A torch ought to endure through the night. I pray my arms do likewise."

"Isolated on this island, I've become adept in navigating its jungle. I've uncovered shortcuts and learned to climb with finesse. The dense foliage and elevated terrains now yield to my practised moves. I have found power in heights."

We are excited to announce that Bootstrap Island will be part of first annual Ruff Talk VR Gaming Showcase on February 2, at 1pm ET!

Ruff Talk VR "We will be featuring a combination of exclusive, never before seen trailers, as well as some trailers that have been previously seen but we feel still deserve a bit more attention. This showcase is to highlight and show-off the industry of virtual reality that we love. We want this showcase to be able to be seen by any gaming fan, and leave being interested in something VR has to offer. We have tried to include and little bit of it all for VR gaming and we hope you all enjoy what we have to show for our first year."
