Beta for the next update "Paws & Claws" is now open!

We are back with a new beta for our upcoming update: Paws & Claws! Try it out now on the beta branch.

Before getting into the content, a word about progress saves:[/p]
When playing the beta branch, please deactivate and unsubscribe to all mods in the workshop. Outdated mods might cause crashes and corrupted save.
To access the beta branch, go to your Library, right click on Brotato and go to "Properties" of your game, then select "Betas". In the “beta participation”, select “beta” in the drop down menu. [/p][p][/p][p]So, “Paws & Claws” is available for testing, and the name alone should tell you everything you need to know![/p][p]The last update was about improving the game experience while introducing very few new elements. This time however, we’re not holding back and released a new type of item, the Pets.[/p][p]As you might have guessed, Pets are autonomous, friendly creatures that will fight alongside you. Think of it as a turret with more personality. And more flavorful effects. [/p][p]And to go with it, we added 1 new character to get the most out of the Pets - the Beast Master![/p][p]We should mention that the new content in the beta is only available in English for the moment. [/p][p][/p][p]Now, here’s the main dish: [/p][p][/p][h3]8 new Pet items[/h3][p]Pets are friendly creatures that will help you fight or survive longer against the hordes of aliens. There are Pets for all types of builds, so you should find your happiness among the 8 new Pets that we are bringing to the game. [/p][p]Like other items, Pets have to be unlocked. Pets are meant to work individually with different builds. But we thought: why not have 1 character that can get the most out of all of them? That’s the Beast Master for you.[/p][p]

To unlock the Beast Master, you must unlock the Bonk Dog, the Catling Gun, the Bot-O-Mine, the Blazemander and the Lootworm. [/p][p]The idea behind the character is to fight solely with Pets. So, the Beast Master doesn't use weapons and instead uses his wild ways to make his pets super strong! [/p][p]It’s our first time crafting a new potato so this might need some fine tuning - that is why we are doing a beta! Try it out and share your thoughts with us.[/p][p][/p][h3]QoL and Codex additions

[/p][p]Now, when you pause during a wave, you will see at the bottom of your screen where you stand in terms of waves and upcoming threats! Visually helpful and practical.

Swimming animation in Abyss
[/p][p]If you own the Abyssal Terror DLC, you’ll notice that Brotato does not walk but now swims. Because we figured that what was missing in a game potato with six floating hands was realism. [/p][p][/p][p]New info in the Codex

[/p][p]Introduced in the lastest update, New Dawn, the Codex now includes better representation of enemies HP and speed as well as visual of their attack pattern. Because sometimes, images are worth a thousand words.

- Added 8 new items, 1 character and 9 challenges
- Made the Soldier bonus no longer related to movement (Damage and Attack Speed are now static)
- Added Tardigrade and Community Support items to Bull's restricted item list
- Added the Lifesteal restriction group to Bull
- Added cursed particles to Cursed Landmines
- All bosses now drop 10 materials
- Sorting inventory settings are now saved
- Added item pop-ups in the solo character selection menu
- Fixed the upgrade screen in co-op
- Fixed the end-of-wave material count when "Optimize End of Waves" is unchecked
- Added a timeline showing run events in the pause menu
- Added a Pets and Turrets highlight options
- Added an option to adjust pet transparency
- Added schematics for every Elite attack in the Codex
- Fixed an issue where controllers with heavy stick drift caused unintended movement when using a keyboard at the same time
- Upgraded the Godot Engine version to 3.7 dev-1[/p]
