9.27 Update Log (New Mecha, New Weapon, Multi-Save)

Hi Adventurers,

The September Update for Oblivion Override is now out! This update introduces the new mecha [Thunderio], which allows players to manipulate electric balls to attack enemies, new weapon [Rhythmix], together with the multi-save support and other assistance features. Please be aware that due to significant changes in the new version, your current run will not be saved after the update.

[h2]New Mecha and New Weapon[/h2]
- Added the new mecha [Thunderio] along with related storylines.
* How-to-unlock hint: Raise Alert Level, Underground Fight Club



- Added the new weapon [Rhythmix].
* Weapon blueprints can be obtained with a chance from the Data Center.



[h2]New Features[/h2]
- Added the Multiple-Save setting.

- Added the feature of [Speciality Block] in the Mecha Room.

- Added the feature of weapon refresh from Nico.

- Added the features of consecutive auscultation and blood draw at the Clinic.



[h2]Optimization & Bug Fixes[/h2]
- The energy of Mecha Ultimate will no longer dissipate automatically when fully charged.

- The maximum limit of Speciality Block has been increased from 3 to 6 as the Alert Level increases.

- Current Scrypt can now be viewed during auscultation at the Clinic.

- Optimized the map generation logic of the Data Center.

- Optimized the coloring of the mini-map of the Data Center.

- Optimized the reward drops in the hidden room of the map Greenhouse.

- Optimized the save timing point for Zero-Cost Purchase in the shop.

- Fixed the bug where the boss could be frozen after using the Crimson Ultimate.

- Fixed the bug where relevant specialities were not fully displayed in the Evolution Catalogues.

- Revised some translation errors.

Dev Log #11 | Upcoming Update: New Mecha, New Weapon, Multisave

Hi Adventurers,

As Autumn begins, Oblivion Override is also gearing up for new content updates. In the previous [Mecha Frenzy] blog, we mentioned that we will develop new mecha characters with distinctive fight styles and build options. So in the next update, we will introduce the brand-new mecha [Thunderio], new weapon [Rhythmix], along with multi-save support and other assistance features expected to be rolled out by the end of this month.

[h3]New Mecha - Thunderio[/h3]
The brand-new mecha, Thunderio, is a strong warrior who combines electronic power with the skill of lightning. Utilizing his unique electrical abilities, Thunderio can release electric balls to attack nearby enemies.



As Thunderio unlocks mecha-specific evolutions, he can further manipulate more electric balls, expand the radius of electric shocks, and control the electric balls to perform “boomerang-like” strikes, returning to hit enemies along the way, or even "wheel-like" rotational attacks. Macha evolution abilities can even trigger the electric balls to bounce off enemies under Shock, attacking nearby foes.



Thunderio's ultimate ability [Thunderstruck] can continuously rain down pulses across a wide range. All enemies on the screen are subjected to Thunderio’s relentless lightning attacks for 5s.



[h3]New Weapon - Rhythmix[/h3]
Nico, as a 'Weapon Expert’, consistently excels in crafting audaciously inventive contraptions in her workshop, calling them 'Artworks’. Her most recent piece, the [Rhythmix], manifests as a punk-infused weapon born from the modification of a crossblade, implanted with an integrated sound system.



As a wheel-type weapon specializing in multi-hit AOE damage, the Rhythmix unleashes sound waves to continuously strike nearby enemies with its weapon skill [Impact].

Its weapon-exclusive effect [Finale], allows players to unleash a powerful sound wave for an AOE damage by pressing attack during the final beat of the [Impact]. We hope this can bring a touch of rhythm-game-like hit feedback to players during intense battles.



[h3]Multisave and Support Features[/h3]
We have received suggestions from many players requesting more save slots to the game. In the upcoming update, there will be three file slots available so that players can revisit the storyline or collect achievements at different progress points. Each file slot also displays the current play time, the times of intrusions at Dulce Base, and your unlock progress data:



In the shelter base of the game, we have also added some support functions to provide players with a better starting experience. In the new version, adventurers can unlock the weapon refresh feature [Choose One of Three] from Nico. Players can select a more suitable weapon from three randomly refreshed options to better adapt to the pacing of early battles.



Some players have mentioned that finding Tristan in the game to block specialities can be a bit cumbersome (often requiring exploration of the entire Factory first). Therefore, we have added the Speciality Block feature in the shelter base, which will be unlocked after completing the game for the first time. Each mecha can be individually configured with different blocked specialities as default starting selections.

- Fixed the bug where Vik's [Heroic Slashes] could also be triggered by other mechas

- Fixed the bug where Vik's [Heroic Slashes] would calculate damage incorrectly

- Fixed the bug where Vik's [Heroic Slashes] would cause a slight freeze on the first trigger

- Fixed the bug where Vik's [Forkbeard Smash] couldn't hit close-range enemies

- Fixed the bug where Vik’s [Forkbeard Smash] could potentially fail to inflict damage on certain enemies

- Fixed the bug where Vik's [Spirit Ascension] would be interrupted by boss transformation animation

- Fixed the bug where the corpse at the entrance of the factory was not synchronized

- Fixed the bug where hold-attack was not effective on the first input

[h3]Optimizations[/h3]
- Optimized the target prioritization for Lee's [Flowing Knives]

- Balanced the evolution refresh cost of the core item [Bad Glove] from a 40% reduction to a 60% reduction

[Mecha Frenzy] Update is Out Now | New Public Demo & 20% Discount

Hi Adventurers!

After months of development, we finally launched the update [Mecha Frenzy]! This update brings a comprehensive overhaul to the Mecha System of Oblivion Override, including active & passive features, ultimate abilities, and fusion evolution. We also introduced new Mecha Styles to be unlocked in the Mecha Room. You can find more details in our previous dev log.

Along with this major update, we are offering a 20% discount on the game for two weeks. For new players who are still considering, we have prepared a demo of Oblivion Override for you to experience a portion of the early-game content. This new demo is now available on the Steam store page and will remain open to download.

[Mecha Frenzy] Update Highlights

[h2]Mecha System Revamp:[/h2]
- Each Mecha now starts with a fixed Active Skill and a new Passive Skill.
- Mecha can combine with specific evolution features to create powerful Fusion Abilities.
- Redesigned mecha ultimate abilities, which can now be activated earlier.
- Mecha-exclusive abilities now require the consumption of Nanite for activation.



[h2]Mecha Redesign and New Styles:[/h2]
- Redesigned Mecha [Crimson] and [LEE].
- Added new Mecha [Vik] and [Conte]. You can obtain the corresponding mecha chips for unlocking them at the Dulce Base.





[h2]Other Mecha Adjustments:[/h2]
- Reduced the Nanite consumption for evolution refresh from 10 to 5.
- Adjusted the position of the Mecha Room to be opposite Nico’s Studio.
- Added Mecha Data Pad to showcase specific skills, evolution information, and data records for each mecha.





[h2]Optimizations:[/h2]
- Significantly reduced the upgrade cost of Talent Tree.
- Optimized the effect of [Lend A Hand] in the Alert system, which now also affects initial weapons.
- Improved the drop rates of the [Chip · Yulecide].
- Enhanced randomness in the Factory level.
- Optimized the release mechanism for the [Scarlet Crest] skill to prevent accidental continuous casting.
- Improved the attack sound effects of certain monsters.
- Optimized the data storage structure.



[h2]Bug Fixes:[/h2]
- Fixed the bug where missile-type skills always crit when having [Interconnection] active.
- Fixed the bug where missile-type skills wouldn’t life steal when having both [Interconnection] and [Mortal Combat] active.
- Fixed the bug where elite enemies in the Factory would stop appearing under high alert.
- Fixed the bug where triggering the Tristan battle would fail when DNA blocking was active.
- Fixed the bug where unlocked Mecha in the Mecha Room would appear as virtual states upon re-entering the game.
- Fixed the bug where certain combat rooms in the Data Center wouldn’t settle properly.
- Fixed the bug where the achievement [Money As Solution] could be potentially missed, resulting in the inability to complete it.
- Attempted to fix the bug where canceling consecutive basic attack commands was not possible.
