HAWKED: Early Access Patch Notes (Version 1.2.3)

Look alive, Renegades! The following changes are available in HAWKED on Windows PC as of the latest update on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Update your game to the latest version on MY.GAMES Launcher or Steam to play HAWKED for free in Early Access.
NEW CONTENT

NEW FEATURE: CONTRACTS
Contracts are a special type of Quest issued by Nellie on the Riftwake. Accepting them adds extra goals to Renegades’ matches on X-Isle, from PvE and PvP gameplay challenges to specific requests such as extracting a particular color of Trinket.

Contracts are available during Showdown periods. Showdowns occur several times per Issue and have a duration of two weeks (with a one-week break between them). Over the course of a Showdown, Renegades will have access to a variety of different Contracts—they’re regularly refreshed, so keep a weather eye out for more challenges!

Completed Contracts yield not only rewards, but League Points. Accumulate League Points to rank up and progress ever higher in the League, a ranked leaderboard system for Renegades.
IMPROVEMENTS & ADJUSTMENTS

MATCHMAKING
• Matches can now be created with fewer players during quieter matchmaking times. This will allow for faster matchmaking and for players to experience matches with fewer bots.

 • We are experimenting with altered spawn points for players and respawns for the Heart Glyph to encourage more PvP encounters. Let us know if you have any feedback!
GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS
• Adjusted the text that displays when you prestige your loyalty with GRAIL. This is intended to make the risk-reward ratio clearer.
 • Adjusted the Wonderment drops in Lone Hunter (Solo) and Treasure Hunt (Squads) modes.
 • Added a default description for Quest counters in the Quest menu.
 • Added a tooltip to Quest markers on X-Isle in-match.

Currency Guide: Hawks, Wonderium, and GE-0 Cash

Being a Renegade is hard work, but it’s not without its rewards. The more you explore X-Isle and extract its treasures, the more funds you’ll acquire for your loadout.

Read up on this guide for a look at the currencies available in HAWKED, how to obtain them, and what you can buy with them.
HAWKS
What are Hawks and how do I obtain them? The bread and butter of a Renegade’s coin purse, Hawks are earned on the job through various activities on X-Isle, completing Contracts, and progressing your Renegade Pass.

How can I spend Hawks? Visit GE-0 to spend Hawks on Gears, Boosters, and cosmetic items, or use them to upgrade your Gears and Artifacts through your Loadout. You can also sell your Artifacts and Trinkets to GE-0 for more Hawks!
WONDERIUM
What is Wonderium and how do I obtain it? Wonderium is a rare mineral found in deposits dotted around X-Isle, and the stuff Artifacts are made of! Renegades can mine it from the deposits during their hunts, earn it through Contracts and Renegade Pass progression, or trade with GE-0 to deconstruct existing Artifacts into Wonderium.

How can I spend Wonderium? You can spend Wonderium through GE-0 to upgrade your Gears and Artifacts, useful if you’re looking to specialize your abilities!
GE-0 CASH
What is GE-0 Cash and how do I obtain it? GE-0 Cash is a premium currency that can be purchased from the Shop on the Riftwake and via platform storefronts.

How can I spend GE-0 Cash? You can spend it in-game on the current Renegade Pass, or to purchase or extend your GRAIL+ subscription, as well as cosmetic items like Outfits, Weapon Patterns, Customizations, and more!

All in all, keep hunting Artifacts and stay up to the usual Renegade mischief, and you’re sure to find the coins rolling into your pockets.

See you on the hunt!

Food and Mods: Snack and Adapt

Every Renegade worth their mettle knows not to underestimate the value of the humble Mod or the benefits of X-Isle’s local cuisine. From shield boosts to generating consumable items, there are a great many advantages to pick ’n’ mixing supplies.

In this guide, we’ll be giving a rundown on the mods and food you’ll encounter on your hunts. It’ll save you wrapping your head around the right one to grab when you’re in the crossfire!
MODS
Mods are items that allow you to make temporary modifications to your loadout. They come in three categories: Shield, Personal, and Weapon.
SHIELD MODS
You can fit so many extra shield points with these.
 • Small Capacitor – Boosts your Shield by +10.
 • Medium Capacitor – Boosts your Shield by +20.
 • Large Capacitor – Boosts your Shield by +30.
 • Colossal Capacitor – Boosts your Shield by +40 and lowers your Shield Cooldown by -2 seconds.
PERSONAL MODS
Health? Stamina? More Gear?
 • Regenerator – Increases your Health Regeneration limit by 25 HP.
 • Stimulant – Gives you +30 Health.
 • High Gear – Reduce your Gear cooldowns by 30%
 • Triathlete – Increases your Stamina by 25%
WEAPON MODS
Some Renegades are clumsy with ammo, others unsteady with recoil. Grab a Weapon Mod for an extra edge in battle or just to add extra fire to the fray.
 • Reclaimer – Reclaim spent ammo from eliminated enemies.
 • Headliners – +5 damage to bullets at the end of a clip (or shots before overheating).
 • Hot Shots – Burn your target after several successive hits.
 • Suppressor-10% recoil for weapons and -40% audible range of gunfire.
 • Stagger Shots – Disorient your target after several successful hits.
FOOD
Don’t just go packing weapons! Food is a crucial part of any Renegade’s loadout. While we don’t recommend eating every mysterious thing you find around X-Isle, here’s a list of mid-match snacks GRAIL-guaranteed to be worth a bite.
 • Shield-up Eel – Boost your shield beyond the maximum.
 • Haste Pepper – Extra Stamina for 20 seconds.
 • Strange Fruit – Generate consumable items every 45 seconds.
 • Healing Fruit – Packed full of healing power.
 • Health-up Cocktail – Boosts health beyond the maximum.
CONSUMABLES
Conveniently portable, you can hold these Consumables in your inventory until you need them most.
 • Heal-o-Cola – After this, the only doctor you'll need is a dentist.
 • Rev Kit – When you're down but not out, this gets you back on your feet in a jiffy.

That’s all there is to the Mods and Food of X-Isle. Don’t underestimate the boost of switching it up to complement a chosen loadout or to adapt to the shifting pace of a match!

Holiday Heist: Get Festive with a New Limited-Time Event!

‘Tis the season, and GRAIL has made a bunch of preparations to celebrate! The Riftwake’s decked out with holly, the tree is trimmed, and the presents are wrapped and stacked, all to help the treasure-hungry Renegades get into the holiday spirit. What could possibly go wrong?

Take part in Holiday Heist, HAWKED’s first-ever limited-time holiday event, with new Quests, new looks, and new rewards available from December 14 until January 14!
LIMITED-TIME EVENT: HOLIDAY HEIST
Everything was in order… until it wasn’t. The Riftwake’s holiday presents have mysteriously disappeared, and Cynthia is not amused. Team up with your fellow Renegades to hunt down clues and bring back the stolen presents on a veritable Holiday Heist, available to undertake until January 14!

It seems even Disciples like to spruce up their hideouts for the holidays. It’s unclear where they got the tinsel and fairy lights from, but they’ve shown a surprising eye for design and done up X-Isle to match the season!
HOLIDAY REWARDS
Get your hands on Wonderment, by completing Quests during the Holiday Heist event. This holly jolly resource can be found across X-Isle as you help to retrieve stolen presents and keep hunting treasure for GRAIL.

Dr. Bjorn’s already busy researching this bauble-like currency and is eager to trade exclusive swag like the Gift Wrap Weapon Skin, Snowman Souvenir, and more for some samples. If you subscribe to the HAWKED newsletter, check your inbox for a head start with 50x Wonderment!
FESTIVE SHOPPING
Stay frosty with the Hulkin’ Santa Avatar, or go over the hills upon a Jolly Sled Hoverboard! Check out GE-0’s new stock of customizations for the full winter collection.
TWITCH DROPS
Grab some snacks, get cozy, and watch some HAWKED streams! Earn the Winter Lilac and Space Purple Color Schemes as Twitch Drops go live from December 22 to January 2.

Happy Holidays, Renegades!
