Lootun Deep Dive #2: Equipment
Welcome to the second episode of Lootun Deep Dive. This week we will be taking a look at the equipment system that Lootun has to offer and how you can expect to interact with it. Due to the length of this deep dive information regarding salvaging and crafting has been moved to next week.
Each character in Lootun can equip up to 16 different pieces of equipment granting them increased damage and defence.

Most equipment in Lootun is obtained from slaying monsters and completing missions. In general there are two types of equipment to be found.
Default Equipment:
Default equipment can be dropped from any monster and will be one of 6 tiers depending on the level of the monster slain.
Special Equipment:
Most monsters and bosses in Lootun have one or more drops that are specific to them, these are considered to be “Special Equipment”. These items can only be obtained from their associated monster or boss reward chest allowing for the ability to target farm items. In general Special Equipment is more powerful than Default Equipment.
Rarity:
There are currently 5 different rarities of equipment to collect; Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Mythical. Each rarity tier will increase the base stats of the item (Weapon Damage, Armour, etc) in addition to granting a higher number of attributes.
Attributes:
Each piece of equipment will have 2-6 randomly assigned attributes based on the equipments rarity. In addition each attribute will have a rank shown by the [x/10] indicator to the left of the attribute name and value. Each attribute rank will grant an additional 10% of the base attribute stat. By default higher rarity equipment will generate with higher attribute ranks.
Bonus Attribute:
Most equipment in Lootun has a fixed bonus attribute that will always be included on the item allowing for the ability to target farm specific items when looking for certain attributes.
Equipment Types:
Currently there are 6 different equipment types available in Lootun.
Armour:
Each character currently has 9 different armour slots to fill; Helm, Shoulders, Chest, Bracers, Gloves, Belt, Pants, Boots and Cloak. Each armour piece will provide some innate defensive attributes in addition to the rarity generated attributes. There are currently 3 different types of armour; Light, Medium and Heavy, each providing a different set of defensive attributes.
Weapons:
Lootun currently offers 3 main weapon types; Melee, Ranged and Magic. These weapon damage types correspond with the skill damage types mentioned in the previous Deep Dive. In order to use a skill a weapon with the matching damage type must be equipped.

Melee:
Axes, Swords, Daggers, Maces and Fist Weapons are all one handed melee weapons that can be used in addition to a shield or with another one handed weapon to enable dual wielding.
Hammers and Polearms are two handed melee weapons that cannot be used with other weapons or offhands. Two handed weapons gain twice the base attribute value of one handed to compensate for the lack of additional equipment slot.
Ranged:
Pistols are one handed ranged weapons that can be used with a shield or dual wielded.
Bows and Crossbows are two handed ranged weapons that can be used in combination with a quiver.
Guns are two handed ranged weapons that can not be used with any other weapon slot and will gain twice the base attribute value to compensate.
Magic:
Spellblades and Spell Tomes are one handed magic weapons that can be used in combination with a ward.
Staves are two handed magic weapons that can not be used with any other weapon slot and will gain twice the base attribute value to compensate.
Offhands:
Offhand equipment can be used with the weapon types previously mentioned, offhands provide additional stats based on their type. Shields will provide a chance to block attacks in addition to some defensive attributes. Quivers will provide adaptive damage and attack speed. Wards will provide adaptive damage and additional barrier.
Accessories:
Each character can equip an Amulet, two Rings and a Trinket into the accessory slots. Accessories provide a good amount of offensive and defensive stats but also provide a number of utility stats that will increase the quality of items that you find in addition to the amount of gold that you can earn.
Relics:
Relics are a unique system within Lootun, each relic will require a specific class or ascendancy class in order to equip. Unlike most equipment, attributes on relics will scale to the level of the character.

Class relics can only be rare and will always have 2 attributes. Ascendancy relics however can roll up to mythical quality and will have one additional attribute for each rarity tier. In addition ascendancy relics will have a bonus attribute based on the strengths of the ascendancy required to equip the relic.
Gems:
Gems will be fully explained in a later deep dive episode. For now here are some examples of gems you can expect to find in Lootun.

Thank you for reading. Next week we will be taking a loot at the Salvaging and Crafting System Lootun has to offer.
