Development Update - Winter 2025
[h3]Hello everyone, Jonas here! Time for a Space Scavenger 2 development update![/h3]
[h2]What's been done?[/h2]
I've been working on Space Scavenger 2 for 3 years now and it's really coming together!
I could go into detail about the development of all the systems - let me know if that's something you'd be interested in! But to keep it short, most core systems are done or very close to done, along with 4 sectors and 3 bosses. Which means the game is playable from start to finish, including an early version of the final boss.
It feels good to play and you can get some pretty fun builds going! There's also meta progression, where more of the game gets unlocked as you play more, including higher difficulty levels.
Split-screen co-op has been planned since the start and recently received some love and attention to make it more solid. The Demo will be updated soon with some new stuff, including co-op!

[h2]What's left to do?[/h2]
My goal for the coming months is to tie everything together in a way where I could release the game into Early Access if I really wanted to. That means:
Right now, the game always follows the same 3-4 sector path, later in the year I want to add at least 2 more sectors so that you can choose a new path in each run, playing new sectors, with different enemies, planets and gameplay mechanics.

- Refining the Upgrade system
- Adding more Modules and Gadgets
- Expanding the meta progression with ship skins and starting capsules.
- Implementing Saving and Loading
- Adding a mode with online leaderboards.
