More than 700 items in Backpack Hero!
We're very happy that you - our community members - were, and still are part of this process. We'll continue to work on making Backpack Hero even more exciting and diverse for you.

There's also a huge update to the main branch! Including:
  • Mana rework
  • Transforming items

  • UI improvements!

Curse Hotfix 3

New Stuff:
Added a new carving - "Renewal" which removes Hazards

Changes:
Added a symbol for "Alternate Use"
Boastful Spellsword doesn't curse on their first action
Bearded Dragon - 2 -> 1 Fire Hazard.
Fire 3 -> 2 burn on use

Bug Fixes:
"Delete All Progress" and "Delete All Save Games" now delete more files
Blue snail - decreased goo from 10 to 1
Fixed the Item Atlas Search function
Added the weapon tag to Blood Wand

Curse Hotfix 2

Bug Fixes:
Charmed enemies will never give hazards or curse
Charmed enemies now always act before uncharmed enemies
The search field in the Atlas no longer overlaps other buttons
You cannot click a second save-game while one is loading
You cannot move items after starting a choose event, pressing "Never Mind", and returning to the event menu
The "No Experience" challenge cannot find the Soul Axe or the Sister Spear
Fixed a sprite error with the DewDrop Blade
Tossing the Druid Staff will now activate its On Discard effect properly
The Red Hoodie will not add Max-HP multiple times when you take damage quickly
Conduits no longer have their mana text misaligned after a save/load
Prices are set properly for items spawned in-combat during Penny Pincher mode

Curse Hotfix 1

Bug Fixes:
The Cursed Shiv can only be used once per turn
Removed the Robber Racoon encounter from the Frozen Core
Changed the Healer to say "Cleanse all curses" instead of "Remove all" to help explain
Fixed a glitch with the Blood Wand that could soft-lock the game
The frog hat now properly reduces the cost of "Toss"
Fixed the Ballista's damage after a save/load
Rage and Weak are now explicitly ignored by Scratch
Fixed a glitch where the conduit would not properly add bricks into the mana network
Improved performance with Satchel's Pockets
The Kodoku can only be found by Pochette

Curse Update on the Testing Branch!

We have new content on the testing branch!

New Stuff:
Added level-up music
Added music after you complete a level
Completely redesigned the curse system
Added 20 new cursed items
Added 6 new cursed carvings
Added 12 new hazards
Added the lantern, which removes curses
Updated all events that use cursed items to deal with curses more clearly

Changes:
Updated the golden whetstone and dice so they have a more standardized "Alternate Use" and can be used outside of battle
When you lose you can now retry or return to the menu
Hazards now spawn closer to the player's backpack
The living shadow now looks like the player
Removed the Robber Racoon from the 3-Hare-Defender enemy encounter
Replaced the 2 Sable encounter with an encounter with the muskrat brigand and 1 sable
Enemies take 2 more turns before scaling the power of their attacks
Changed the way items are reorganized in combat. Now there's no separate skip button
Items created in combat appear closer to the grid and be easier to place in your backpack

Bug Fixes:
Removed plasma sword from Tote's drops
Removed Emerald Bracelet from Tote's drops
Fixed the Wasp Honey in the item atlas
You can now walk past Scavengers
Hermit Crab Mimics no longer scale the power of their curses
Fixed a glitch with the double-poison potion
Fixed the SpellBlade's Ring - which wasn't properly saying "per turn"
Fixed the plinko game - which was randomizing the curse item
Fixed a glitch where prices would be shown in the atlas at shops
You can now pickup items created in combat and place them back in the same space
