Devlog From Behind The Bars #14 "Free-man" in prison?!

Hello Prisoners!

Stand up! Be quiet! Your fav CO is speaking! ;)

Welcome back to another devlog for Prison Survival!

We’ve been cooking up some new inmates for Prison Survival, and today we want to share a behind-the-scenes look at one of our most unexpected creations...

The Birth of Morgan Jailman

So, one of our talented artists was sculpting a new inmate in Blender. Things were going fine - until we zoomed out and realized... HE LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE.

The resemblance was uncanny - calm expression, wise eyes, and that unmistakable character.
Naturally, we did the only logical thing: We named him “Jailman.”

Sculpting

In the process, we experimented with different hair options - fully bald? Short curls? Gray sideburns?

We even made a before and after comparison image we call.

3D Details

On the technical side:

-Facial rigging for realistic expressions

-Blendshapes for aging effects (wrinkles, subtle eye bags)

-Modular hair support for future inmates

We’re building systems so characters can look unique - and occasionally, unintentionally famous!

Take care, inmates!

Devlog From Behind The Bars #13 - Built to Intimidate: Guards and Inmates

Hello Prisoners!

Stand up! Be quiet! Your fav CO is speaking! ;)

Welcome back to another devlog for Prison Survival!

Today we’re taking you behind the scenes - into the dark art of making mean faces in Prison Survival.

“Ugly face? That’s by design!”

We spent the last few weeks refining the look of our prison population -adding more grit, more personality, and more attitude.
And the guards? Well, some of them really enjoy their job a little too much.
Maybe they should switch places? (ever heard of DAS EXPERIMENT?)

Our goal was simple:
Make every inmate instantly memorable.
Make every guard either feared… or mockable.
Here are some progress and inspirations.

"Speed and weight"

Ah yes. Officer "Fatty". Wide shoulders. WIde range of INTERACTIONS. The kind of guy who chews gum like it owes him money.

He’s not the final boss. But he can (and want to) get to your a$$.
He is a bit slow, you can escape hit easily But if he catches you... it's worse than ever.

Take care, inmates!

Devlog From Behind The Bars #12 - Traversal shenanigans

Hello Prisoners!

Stand up! Be quiet! Your fav CO is speaking! ;)

Welcome back to another devlog for Prison Survival!

Eyes up! No, seriously - look up! Because you're gonna need those reflexes sharpened!

We've been busy upgrading the ledge-grabbing and pipe-movement mechanics.
You can now grip onto narrow ledges like a true escape artist, swing across pipes

He’s climbing WHAT now?

We’ve reworked the climbing code and polished transitions between movement states.
Basically it is: Ledge >> Pipe >> Ledge transitions
We even implemented smarter auto-grabs but don't worry: all hard work in moving aroudn priosner is still on YOUR side!

"Hands where I can see ‘em!"

Fluid jumps between pipes and ledges
Jumping from one pipe to another, or from pipe to ledge, now feels much more natural and responsive.

In the game ingine environment

Well-aimed "prison parkour" move !

How it looks in-game

Thanks for climbing through this update with us!

Stay strong, stay sneaky, and don’t forget: the walls have eyes… and sometimes they’re cameras.

Take care, inmates!

Devlog From Behind The Bars #11 Showers - a water level in prison?

Hello Prisoners!

Stand up! Be quiet! Your fav CO is speaking! ;)

Welcome back to another devlog for Prison Survival!

Today, we’re diving deep (not literally, we hope) into one of the most essential but often overlooked aspects of prison life: HYGIENE!

Plus, let’s talk about sinks, toilets, and how water (or the lack of it) can shape the prison experience.

"Those damned Water Levels!"

Prisoners need showers, but not all of them enjoy it. Some see it as a social event, others as a necessary evil. You can use shower to hide from guards, prefom some off-scene activities or relieve yourself (and your psyche)

Skibidi Toilet

Ever seen a grown man fight over a toilet? In our game, you will.
Not only are toilets essential for hygiene and morale, but their placement can become a tactical power move.
Who gets stuck with the one that barely even flushes?
Important but often overlooked thing!

Psychology of Cleanliness

It’s not just about looking (and smelling) good. Hygiene has a direct impact on a prisoner’s mental state. A clean, well-maintained prison can reduce tensions, while filth and neglect lead to unrest.
in every cell there are sinks that ALWAYS works.
If you for some reason can't go to showers: use this to clean your prisoner a little. Reduce your stress.
Hey, its always something!
