He thought he could slip by undetected, but today’s Featured Hyena is Hero-Ki!

Unlock him at a (rather hefty) discount, complete challenges and earn his exclusive Closed Beta skin.

Hiroki's cosplay and charity work made him a minor internet celebrity back on Earth, but after being evacuated to The Taint, he's had to put his skills with a glue gun towards less innocent pursuits.

His crewmates see him as naïve, but Hiroki's love of pop culture and hatred of bullies overrides any respect he once had for authority - especially if he finds materials for a new character costume.

🔫 Weapon: Hummingbird
A short-range, easy to use, silenced SMG. Best used firing from the hip, with great mobility and good DPS. Weak at medium-range with a low burst damage potential.

📸 Ability: Disguise Camera
Hiroki uses a specially modified camera to capture a target’s likeness and cosplay as them. When cosplaying as a Hyena on a rival team, only the sharpest-eyed rival will be able to detect the clues that reveal him as an imposter. If cosplaying a MURF, he will be ignored by other MURFs until the disguise breaks.

🕵️ Perk: Oh Hi!
Manually removing Hero-Ki’s disguise by holding the ability button triggers a flashbang to stun your enemies, creating the perfect opportunity for a surprise attack!

As an actual ‘professional’ criminal amongst a crew of mostly misfits, we’re delighted to welcome The Pro to the Closed Beta roster of playable Hyenas.

Mr Jones, The Pro, is a seasoned old-school bank robber. He’s joining the Hyenas to show them how to plunder properly, but he isn’t too happy about it. Older and gritter than his fellow Yeenas, The Pro was a criminal long before Earth went to shit, and he’s bringing his tried-and-tested plundering skills to a whole new Zero-G environment.

Armed with a shotgun, a sentry turret and a defiantly old-school attitude, this enigmatic old-timer is determined to make a profit in the new world.

🔫 Weapon: Boomer
Best used at short-range for high damage, with high mobility, and good burst damage. Less effective on any targets beyond short-range where it’s imprecise.

💰 Ability: Sentry Gun
A deployable, stationary sentry gun that will automatically target and fire upon anyone that enters its firing arc.

Perk:
The Pro deals extra damage to NPCs with his weapons and turret. He's a one-man (and one turret) clean-up crew!

[h2]FEATURED HYENA: GALAXIA[/h2]

Today's featured Hyena is the cosmic queen herself, Galaxia!

Unlock her at a (rather hefty) discount, complete challenges and earn her exclusive Closed Beta skin set. (Her regular skins are also discounted too, go grab em!)

The discount is active till September 3rd.

Galaxia worked hard to find her true voice, only for her career to take an ass-over-heels tumble when The Crack interrupted her big break by devastating Earth.

After losing her shot at fame, Galaxia realised that all her hardships on Earth were training for her own superhero origin story.

From the ashes emerged a cosmic Hyena from the fabulous Galaxy of Drag who slays all, whether it’s by using her deflecting ability or by throwing shade.

🔫 Weapon: Murfslayer
Excellent at short-range with potential of high burst damage. Less effective at medium-range, with a slow fire rate because the shells must be reloaded individually.

💅 Ability: Deflector shield
Galaxia uses localised zero-G tech to shield herself from projectiles by capturing them in a force field and projecting them back at enemies.

✨ Perk: Pain and Gain
Take out your enemies with precision kills and downs to instantly kick in your regeneration. You also recover one health segment and one shield segment when the perk activates.

After running a few top-secret Alpha sessions over the last year, we’re excited to announce that HYENAS is now entering Closed Beta! (Insert champagne bottle pop noise here)

Servers open August 31st 15:00 BST and close September 11th 09:00 BST

The Closed Beta will be PC-only, taking place on Steam.

Worlds first Mastery

Mastery challenges for Prima and Galaxia are active!

Once you’ve mastered these tricksy Yeenas send us a screenshot in Discord and tag the CA team.

The first players to master Prima and Galaxia respectively will receive an exclusive role each! Get grinding, the race to worlds first mastery is on!

Players who progress through the Hyena Mastery tracks will receive a special silver skin at level 10, and a gold skin at level 15.

In addition to the mastery challenge, we’re fanning the flames of the race to reach max level! Whoever reaches level 50 first and sends us a screenshot will be immortalized in HYENAS history, winning an exclusive role!
