Alliances: A New Era of Team Play in MARVEL SNAP!

Our most anticipated feature for MARVEL SNAP is finally here! Both heroes and villains are stronger in numbers, which is why we’ve brought you Alliances. Alliances are here to enhance the social experience, allowing players to create or join communities within the game while working together to complete Bounties and earn rewards. Team up, strategize, chat with friends (new and old, all while earning rewards together.
WHAT ARE ALLIANCES?
Alliances is a new feature designed to help you and your friends connect. It provides a platform for players to strategize, collaborate, and grow together.
  • Team Up and Strategize: Form or join an Alliance to collaborate with fellow members. Share strategies, discuss tactics, and grow stronger together.
  • Complete Bounties: Work together to complete Alliance-specific Bounties. These tasks will challenge your team and offer exciting rewards.
  • Alliance Chat: Communicate seamlessly with other members through the in-game chat feature. Share tips, celebrate victories, and plan your next move.
  • Earn Rewards: Participate in Alliance activities to earn exclusive rewards. The more active and strategic your Alliance, the greater the rewards you can unlock.
ALLIANCE, ASSEMBLE!
[h3]Joining an Alliance[/h3]To join an Alliance, players first need to complete the Recruit Season Pass. After that, they can search for Alliances by ID, tag, or name, and use filters to find the right fit based on criteria like minimum Collection Level, highest rank achieved, language, and privacy settings. Players can also view an initial list of recommended Alliances based on their skill level.[h3]Creating an Alliance[/h3]For those who prefer to create their own community, the Alliance Creation tab offers customization options including:
  • Emblem: Choose a unique icon.
  • Theme: Set the background for your Alliance screen.
  • Tag: Create a tag visible before player names.
  • Name: Name your Alliance.
  • Description: Write a short description for potential recruits.
  • Requirements: Set minimum Collection Level and Rank.
  • Privacy: Decide if applications need approval or are auto-accepted.
  • Language: Select the primary language.
  • Search Labels: Use labels to improve visibility in search results.
NEW RECRUITS
Now that you’re in, you’ll want to organize. Leadership is key in any organization and Alliances are no different.[h3]Alliance Management[/h3]Leaders and Officers have different levels of access and responsibilities:
  • Leaders can manage descriptions, joining requirements, emblems, themes, chat settings, promotions, demotions, and more.
  • Officers can kick users, manage new applicants, and report users.
  • Members can report users and interact in the chat.
[h3]Alliance Chat and Feed[/h3]The Alliance window features a chat and feed system where members can interact and stay updated on activities. The feed will automatically share major player milestones like winning an 8-cube game, beating an Infinite Conquest, Hitting Infinite Rank, or when players join/leave. Leaders can also post announcements to ensure the entire Alliance is on the same page.
TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK
One of the main ways players will interact with Alliances is through bounties. Unlike the weekly missions, players will choose from a list of available Bounties that have various rarities and point values. Players can only select up to three Bounties at a time, but if they see a new Bounty that they would rather do, they will be able to swap up to 3 bounties a week. Completing these Bounties earns points for both personal and Alliance-wide rewards. Points contribute to progress bars for individual and group rewards, and an Alliance Leaderboard tracks top contributors weekly.As players complete Bounties and earn points for rewards, those points will also be used to show Alliance members who have the most points collected during that week. This board resets alongside the Bounty rewards at the end of a week.
JUST THE BEGINNING
We have BIG dreams for Alliances and are committed to expanding this feature over time. The next step on our roadmap is Alliance Competitions. These competitions will pit Alliances against each other in thrilling battles for supremacy and even more rewards!Alliances is a feature designed for YOU, our dedicated players. We will be releasing new features in phases and actively seeking your feedback to shape its future development. Let us know what you think and how we can make Alliances even better.Mark your calendars and prepare to experience a new level of teamwork in MARVEL SNAP. We can’t wait to see the incredible Alliances you will create and the epic adventures that await!Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, thank you for being part of the MARVEL SNAP community!

Deadpool's Diner

As we gear up for the much-anticipated Marvel Studios' Deadpool & Wolverine movie, MARVEL SNAP is launching a brand new game mode: Deadpool's Diner! This limited-time event, running from July 23rd to August 6th, brings a fresh, pipin’ hot experience with higher stakes than ever before. Did we mention the rewards? Earn up to 32 different rewards including Cassandra Nova, a brand new card! Get ready to wager big, win big, and have some chaotic fun in the process.
HOW TO PLAY
Deadpool's Diner introduces a twist on traditional Snap gameplay. Here’s what you need to know to dive in and start playing:
  • Event Duration
    • The event runs from July 23rd to August 6th.
  • Gameplay
    • Matches play out like regular SNAP games, not Conquest.
  • Bubs?
    • Instead of Cubes, you'll be playing with Bubs, named after Deadpool's best friend, Wolverine.
  • Automatic Snaps
    • In addition to the usual player-initiated Snaps, each match will feature automatic Snaps at Turn 4 and Turn 5. This means up to 5 potential Snaps per match (3 automatic and 1 for each player).
  • Starting Bubs
    • Players begin with 240 Bubs, which if lost, regenerate over time back up to the starting cap. If you hit 0 Bubs, it takes 8 hours to fully regenerate back to 240.
  • Bub Regen Cap Increases
    • As you earn more Bubs and climb the reward track, your Bub regeneration cap will increase, allowing for quicker recovery to higher Bub levels acting as a floor enabling you to go “all-in” without fear of starting at the bottom.
  • High Tables, Higher Stakes
    • As you win, you move up Tables where the stakes increase. The stakes can escalate to a whopping 200 million Bubs!
TABLE STAKES
Deadpool’s Diner features 15 tables, each themed around Deadpool’s favorite foods. Here’s how the tables work:
  • Tables and Stakes
    • Each table represents a different level of stakes. Starting from the Cereal Table for breakfast, players can progress to higher Tables like Ramen for lunch, Chimichangas for dinner, and the ultimate Maximum Effort Table.
  • Bub Requirements
    • Each table has a minimum Bub requirement, correlating to the stakes at that level. The minimum equals the amount that would be wagered at the third of the 5 potential Snaps. Players can go all-in, making the end-of-match Bub total equal to the all-in amount.
  • Increasing Stakes
    • As players move up the tables, the stakes get higher, leading to wilder, more intense games.
REWARDS
Participating in Deadpool’s Diner isn’t just about the thrill of high-stakes matches; there are plenty of rewards to be earned:
  • Reward Track: There are 32 different rewards, including the new card, Cassandra Nova, which becomes available at 15 million Bubs.
  • Exclusive Variant: The top reward, at 500 million Bubs, is an exclusive variant of Cassandra Nova, only obtainable in Deadpool's Diner.
  • New Borders: Earn up to 19 new Border consumables, featuring Matte Red, Matte Black, Distressed Red, and Distressed Blue designs, all themed around Deadpool and Wolverine.
  • Leaderboard and Titles: A web leaderboard will track the top players’ Bub totals. The top 100 players will receive an exclusive title, "Best Bubs."
  • Bub Totals: A player’s Reward Track and Leaderboard level are determined by their total amount of Bubs collected over the lifetime of the event. That means the number will only go up if you win and not down if you risk it all and come up just short.
Whether you’re aiming to climb the leaderboard, collect exclusive rewards, or just enjoy the high-stakes action, this new game mode promises to be a wild ride. See you at the Diner, and may the best Bub win!
FAQ
  • How long does Deadpool’s Diner last?
    • July 23rd through August 6th.
  • When will Deadpool’s Diner return to MARVEL SNAP after August 6th?
    • We will be excited to bring back Deadpool’s Diner in the future but have not determined the exact date yet. When it returns it will have all new rewards and new tuning based on feedback and data from the initial release!
  • What happens when I run out of Bubs?
    • If you hit 0 Bubs, it takes 8 hours to fully regenerate back to your Bub regeneration cap. You can raise the amount of Bubs that regenerate by unlocking upgrades in the Deadpool’s Diner Rewards Track.
  • Do Bubs regenerate slowly over 8 hours or are you replenished fully after that time?
    • Bubs regenerate every hour you are below the Bub Regeneration Cap until they reach the cap.
  • Is Deadpool’s Diner free to play?
    • Yes! It’s free for all players to play. If you choose, you can spend Gold to skip the wait to regenerate your Bubs immediately. Players can also choose to spend Gold to buy into a higher stakes table that requires more Bubs than they currently own.
  • When can you unlock Cassandra Nova and how hard will that be?
    • Cassandra Nova base card is unlocked at the 15M reward on the Deadpool’s Diner Reward track
    • We believe the average highly engaged player will have a great shot at unlocking Cassandra Nova within the two weeks of the event.

  • Will Bubs purchased for Gold count towards the Rewards Track?
    • Yes, buying Bubs for Gold will count towards Deadpool’s Diner Reward track progress.

July 18th - Balance Updates

Welcome back to another OTA! Arishem’s release was a huge shake-up to the meta, and we’ve been excited to see all the hype around the card! While his play rate has been unprecedented, his overall win rate hasn’t been out of line. Moreover, playing against Arishem decks creates much more varied experiences game-to-game due to the inherent randomness he injects into decks. Cassandra Nova releasing soon should also give players another great tool against Arishem decks, so for now we’re instead pulling back on some of his most impactful synergy pieces in an attempt to broaden the diversity of Arishem strategies.
  • Blob
    • [Old] 6/0 - On Reveal: Merge cards from your deck into this until it gains 15 or more Power. Ongoing: Can’t be moved.
    • [New] 6/0 - On Reveal: Merge cards from your deck into this until it gains 15 or more Power.
While Blob not moving hasn’t been a large part of his strength, having an Ongoing ability has been. Unlike other decks, Arishem lists have enough cards to fuel two Blobs, and we’ve seen Mystique take full advantage of this by copying Blob’s text as an Ongoing card.. We’ve been looking to simplify this card since its last change, so this seemed like the perfect time to do so.
  • Mockingbird
    • [Old] 5/9 - Costs 1 less for each of your cards in play that didn’t start in your deck.
    • [Change] 5/9 -> 6/10
Mockingbird has been hovering around the top of the meta ever since her release, and the combination of Arishem both providing cards that didn’t start in your deck and encouraging the use of Agent Coulson and friends has pushed her over the line. We still expect Mockingbird to play a big role with these new numbers, but to require a more substantial investment to use.
  • Hydra Bob
    • [Old] 1/4 - After each turn, this moves if a player Snapped.
    • [Change] 1/4 -> 1/5
Hydra Bob, on the other hand, hasn’t made much of a splash. He’s been doing alright in games where he’s played, but his risky play style hasn’t been very popular. We think he has room to be a bit more decisive in the high stakes games he encourages, so we’re adding a Power here to help his final location matter more and ensure he’s a solid addition to players’ collections.
  • Ravonna Renslayer
    • [Old] 2/3 - Ongoing: Your cards with 1 or less Power cost 1 less. (minimum 1)
    • [Change] 2/3 -> 2/2
Time and again Ravonna has been a strong piece of decks that incidentally want some low-base Power cards. Her ubiquity has also made it difficult to balance cards as she can turn reducing their Power into a buff. We’re dinging her in an attempt to make building around Ravonna a little bit more of a commitment.
  • Viper
    • [Old] 3/5 - On Reveal: One of your other cards here switches sides.
    • [New] 3/5 - On Reveal: One of your other cards here with the lowest Power switches sides.
Viper demands a more specific game state to do her thing than other cards that junk up the opponent’s board, so we’re making this quality-of-life change to help her more consistently hit her intended target later in the game and against opposing junk strategies.
  • Sauron
    • [Old] 3/3 - On Reveal: Remove the abilities from all Ongoing cards in your hand and deck.
    • [Change] 3/3 -> 3/4
While Sauron decks utilizing Shuri and Red Skull have continued to have some success since their dominance in the game’s early days, they haven’t gained many new options while other decks have diversified their game plans. In order to keep this deck an accessible and viable option for players who are still building up to larger collections, we figured this (not so) friendly green dinosaur could use a small boost.
  • Werewolf By Night
    • [Old] 3/1 - After you play a card, move there to gain +2 Power if it has an On Reveal.
    • [Change] 3/1 -> 3/2
After his former dominance, we played it safe when we reduced Werewolf By Night’s Cost from 4 to 3 because it provides more opportunities to scale up his Power. He hasn’t performed very well since that change though, so we’re giving him a bit more Power to help him out.
  • Hit-Monkey
    • [Old] 3/2 - On Reveal: Gain +2 Power for each other card you played this turn.
    • [Change] 3/2 -> 3/3
Hit-Monkey has been struggling for a bit now. We’ve been conservative with this card because his playstyle is difficult to interact with, but we’re taking another shot at hitting the sweet spot.
  • Lockjaw
    • [Old] 4/5 - After you play a card here, swap it with a card in your deck. (once per turn)
    • [New] 4/4 - After you play a card here, swap it with a card in your deck.
Lastly, Lockjaw has had trouble keeping a spot in decks since his move to 4-Cost, and his previous home in Jane Foster decks full of hammers hasn’t seen much play as of late. Given all that, we’re excited to try bringing back Lockjaw’s ability to swap out a flurry of cards at the same time, and see whether we can return the classic combo in a good spot.

That's all for this week. Until next time, happy snapping!
